Specialties

Natural Equine Connection provides Horsemanship Programs and Equine Assisted Learning Workshops. The horsemanship program is designed to teach the principles of good horsemanship in a way that is geared to a horse’s point of view. Training and educating the horse and rider in a compassionate, respectful way in order to build a great foundation using language that horses can easily understand.

The Equine Assisted Learning Workshops provide an experiential therapeutic approach using horses as the main focus to create positive impact on individuals of all ages, as well as families and groups. A powerful and effective approach for personal growth co-facilitated by a professional licensed counselor, professional certified equine specialist, and horses. The horses are used as a way for clients to gain self-understanding and emotional growth.

History

Established in 1990.

Natural Equine Connection was founded by Lisa Simpanen. Teaching horsemanship and a solid foundation was the main focus in the early years of the business. Lisa then studied horse behavior and discovered the importance of truly understanding how a horse thinks and how important body language plays a huge role with how horses communicate with one another. After becoming a level 4 Parelli graduate, and studying under natural horsemanship specialists, Lisa began adding this philosophy to her training program with great results. Lisa also saw how horses taught her, and her students many valuable life lessons and discovered Equine Assisted learning institutes where horses are used to help people with no previous horse experience, discover important life skills and help develop personal growth. Natural Equine Connection now has several programs and workshops helping to create healthy relationships between horses and humans.
