A few years ago the southbound Gasoline Alley Husky station was massively renovated, and the highlight on most trips from Edmonton to Calgary is the bathrooms: big, open, clean. The gas station side has lots of everything you’d expect in a convenience store: from fresh bananas to Cheesies, motor oil to a bank machine, etc. The Smitty’s at this location has massive windows, booths that seat 6, a Sunday buffet, and the typical Smittys giant portions, quick service, and decent coffee. I opted for the garden skillet, which has lots of potatoes, eggs and cheese, and enough broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions to make it seem moderately healthy(at 700 calories and 1000 mg of sodium, well, it could be worse). Our group also had the traditionally awesome pancakes(you can buy the pancake mix) and a steak(which was okay).
