Asian Cuisine

I should preface this review by saying I don’t really like Chinese food all that much.
This is a very interesting restaurant. I think it might be jointly owned by an Indian family, which is unusual for a chinese restaurant.
The food though is quite good. They have a special, soup, 4 dishes, and dessert for 49.99 — where one of the choices must be peking duck, fish, or lobster.
We ordered the fish, a beef hot pot, pork belly, sweet and sour chicken.
But they really have a list of close to 100 things you can choose from.
The portions are huge and seasoned perfectly, with no msg. However, everything is still very tasty.
Even though it’s a small restaurant, there are always tables available, so you don’t have to make a reservation, and it’s very quiet.
The staff was quite accommodating, there was a couple out of town (who weren’t chinese) and she explained everything to them, and checked on them at various times throughout the meal.
I think the 49.99 deal might only be for cash, it’s 59.99 if paying by credit card.
It’s still very reasonable — and I’d recommend it for an alternative to first markham place restaurants.

Asian Cuisine really is a restaurant that serves Chinese food… and Chinese food only. not really an Asian fusion so you won’t see anything like Thai, Vietnamese or Malaysian items on the menu.
For pre dinner time, Asian Cuisine is really a dim sum restaurant. Where almost all dim sum are $ 2.10. The selections are standard but they are all really good. at least with the food we ordered.
There are some noodle dishes that are for $ 5 … which will make a great lunch options or you can order off their lunch special menu.
The restaurant itself is quite small. And most of the tables are for 4 persons+ but so if you come as a solo diner… you might have to sit at a big round table by yourself… not really an issue when the place is not busy.
We ordered:
— Shrimp Dumplings
— Chiu Chow Dumplings (so so and only have 3 in an order, not much filling)
— Homemade Deep Fried Fish Balls
— Egg White with Shrimp and Pork Dumplings
— Preserved Egg and Pork Congee (tons of pork and eggs inside and thick and filling!)
— Tofu Pudding (I really like how the brown sugar was served on the side)
— Beef Rice Noodle Roll ($ 2.50, a little more pricey but has tons of beef inside and quite filling!)
The services here is excellent and friendly!
