Meet the Business Owner

Melissa M.

Business Owner

In 2006, Melissa Maker left her corporate job as a banker to start a business. What kind of business, she was unsure.

At the age of 24, Melissa knew that hard work would be required to get any business off the ground, regardless of what industry she chose. With no understanding of cleaning, Melissa kept getting the same message everywhere she turned, cleaning was the business to be in.

At that point, after plenty of research and practice, she started cleaning and launched Clean My Space as a boutique style service catering to the condo market in the GTA.

Melissa had exactly one person working with her at the time plus her then boyfriend (now fiancé), Chad, volunteering on the marketing and design front. The company was but a planted seed. She waitressed during the evenings and cleaned and built CMS during the day. Chad feverishly developed the website, marketing materials and unique brand.
