Newly renovated, this Food Basics replaced the 24-hr Metro that was previously here(here and losing money, I’ll bet!) The great thing is that they’ve kept up the late hours, and FB closes at 12am. Perfect for when I’m finished my dinner, and I just want to wander the aisles. This FB is unlike the others I’ve been to, like the East York Town Centre, in that it still has that new feeling to it. Everything still a bit glossy, not so run down. Great prices, as usual, and not a difficult layout to understand. Also great is the Butcher Shop, where they have pretty good deals on fresh meat! Downside — somehow it retains that distinctive Food Basics lighting, where there’s a depressing fluorescent cast on everything. Ugh. Otherwise? Great place for cheapie grocery shopping!

Formerly Metro supermarket. They change the branding to Food Basic early this year. They have more friendly price then Metro before, since they are facing a lot of competition around like Walmart and Fresh Co nearby. Everything’s is good except there is not enough cashier, even in the rush hour, they only have 2 – 3 cashier open, and it make a super long lineup for paid. Need to improve!
