I took the day off work on my birthday to pamper myself and get a massage. Thought I’d try a new place so I came here. They have a special for $ 69 for a full body massage on your first visit. The receptionist was friendly and the place looked fairly clean. I was expecting heated blankets as I thought I read that somewhere on their website. They didn’t have heated blankets. The massage was great. Nisha did my massage and she was very considerate and always asked if the pressure was ok. She would give warning when putting the hot towel on my back. It was a relaxing massage. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed a bug crawl up the wall. Looked a bit closer and took a picture as it looked very much like a cockroach. After shaking off my clothes and jacket, etc. I went to pay and left. I felt very creeped out after that. I verified later that it was indeed a roach. Needless to say I will not be going back.

I’ve been to all the fancy-schmancy places in downtown Toronto. You know, the likes of Elmwood(which I do love). While Hand & Stone in North Richmond Hill may not be as ornate in their décor, I find the staff and quality of massages to be just as great(if not more superb) than their downtown counterparts. I’ve never gotten a facial here, only massages, so my review is based soley on that. The RMTs are very professional and I can’t find a reason to complain, I really can’t. Sometimes, I have a language barrier with a few RMTs(which I don’t care about, as long as both sides are patient, things get figured out) but if you don’t want to deal with that, they have RMTs that are fully native English speakers. The massages themself are therapeutic, at least for me. You do the paperwork once a year I think(in case anything changed), but the front staff and RMT always ask if there’s something wrong that I would like to work on, etc… The hot towels, heated bed… the little touches all add up! I’ve been coming here for a few years and recently bought their membership. The prices are relatively much more affordable than many other places, but you still get A+ treatment. The front staff are very professional and courteous, making sure all the paperwork you will need(RMT receipts, information package, etc…) are all waiting for you when you leave. My only drawback for this place is that the reception area can get quite crowded at a busy time. It’s not enough for me to take a star off the rating, but I hope they will expand one day! As a side note, I have discovered that not every Hand & Stone have the same quality of standards. I have frequented other locations and this is the one I chose to get my membership at, because of the service and staff.

I got a gift card to Hand and Stone spa as a present and decided to use it for hot stone massage and facial. The place looks very nice, it is quite upscale. Yet, the massage was quite mediocre and the facial was not great either, my face had very visible redness next day(like most redheads I have sensitive skin, but this never happened to me before). I probably shouldn’t be complaining as I got this as a gift, but I certainly cannot recommend this spa.

I went to this H&S location the other day. woke up to a bleak rainy day and decided I needed a facial. My facial was amazing. Paula was my aesthetician. I left with my skin feeling soft, plump and clearer. The Spa is clean, relaxing. The beds are nice and warm when you get in. Katherine the manager was super friendly. Loved it so much I signed up for the membership :)
