Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites

It’s staggering between a three and four star hotel like 3.5. Our room was old but still very clean and had a lot of amenities, like a microwave, fridge and two tvs. However, if I gained another pound I wouldn’t be able to fit into the shower. It was so tiny. The lobby and conference rooms and open spaces were all modern clean and big like wide and open. I think it would be a 4.5 hotel if they updated the rooms, especially if we’re getting a suite. It’s really a bit on the too old side!

I booked the day of and check in was seamless. The service is so fantastic, even the housekeeping staff was super friendly!
My only complaint, and the reason for this low rating, is the design of the rooms.
I mean, unless you like a huge vent blowing you to sleep, i mean, really.
The vent fan is intermittent to keep the room at the desired temperature. Fine I get that. It turns on, cools to desired temp, and turns off.
But in my face. The whole night. Repeatedly. I initially chose the bed closer to that wall and then had to move over to the farther bed just to somewhat alleviate the vent.
And it’s not just my room. Oh no, if that was the case, I would have requested a room change. My business partner in the OTHER tower had the same layout. Terrible.
So, end result? I got creative. I built a pillow fort to block the air. This was all good and fine and somewhat a little nostalgic, until I went to sleep.
And I’m not one of those people who lay like a board when sleeping. Apparently it looks like I was fighting a bear as when I woke up, pillows. everywhere.
I love the great service, but the beds need to be placed differently in the room. Unless you are the kind of person who wants to fall asleep to someone blowing in your face.

This is definitely an older hotel in need of a bit of a refresh, or maybe in the process of one. But overall it wasn’t a bad experience. Check in was fast and friendly, and though I was with a large group booking, I wound up with a heavily upgraded room with a bar (?) and a jacuzzi. The bedding was comfortable, but I seem to be on a streak of finding hair in bathrooms in hotels lately.
I had a full breakfast included which was nice, but beware — the breakfast servery is one side only for Continental Breakfast — a few people I think got stung with full breakfast bills ($ 18!) not realizing that they were only supposed to take from one side of the room.
They charge for WiFi but if you’re an SPG member — or insist — they will waive it.

Let me start off with the good before I go on a tangent. I received exceptional customer service from from desk and booking/​check in was quick and simple. There is a Starbucks conveniently located in the lobby and although the rooms are a bit outdated they are spacious and comfortable.
Now for the bad, the cleanliness of this room is disappointing. If I didn’t check in so late and have to be up so early I would have complained and requested a new room. While plugging in my phone to charge I noticed visible toe nail clippings at the side of my bed. My carpet does not look vacuumed as there are little tidbits here and there. I question if the washroom was even cleaned due to the fact that there is someone else’s hair in the toilet, residue on the toilet seat, toothpaste/​water marks on the mirror and left over soap from the previous occupant on the walls and soap holder.
I’m not a picky person but when I book a hotel I expect it to be clean otherwise I would have booked a motel. I regret not bringing slippers to shower. I didn’t even sit on the toilet seat because I don’t believed it was wiped down. I’m actually confused as to why the shower isn’t cleaned properly considering there is a detachable shower head enabling them to give the walls a proper rinse. It’s unfortunate because I have stayed at other locations and never witness anything like this. Hopefully this is a one off

I visited this property in July. Ist visit since they added an SPG lounge… the lounge is OK, nice views of downtown Toronto, but…
— the property has not been renovated;
— our room request was not honoured;
— the Starwood Fitness area is very poor.
The biggest surprise of all was when I raised the GM Suzanne Marshall & her assistant Wendy Won. Rather than deal with the concerns, their response was we will try better next time! Next time? If you are so inclined, check out:

The interior of this hotel looks great except for the fact that it’s under construction and we had to go through Best Western for hotel access. The rooms are spacious and visually it’s a stunning hotel for their reservation price. But let me tell you the story of how HORRIBLE this place is, and no I’m not making this up.
My friend booked this hotel ONE year in advance and when she checked to see if it was in the system. NO RECORD. Fine, moving on. The hotel gave the wrong room arrangement (i.e. incorrect room number). Not to mention, the manager stood my friend TWICE and did not show up to answer any of her questions. Did I mention that she was booking a presidential suite for her WEDDING? Cue in the important night, we booked the room for FOUR people and we were presented with 1 bed. You know what, perhaps you could have given us an extra bed? A presidential suite with 1 bed for 4 people, but we can forgive this since they told us it’s a surcharge per person to add extra beds. The day my friend checked in, a light bulb was broken and it took them 30 minutes to repair it. Great. Now it’s night time and we asked for more pillows. The front desk staff had the nerve to ask us how many pillows we have in our room because they would only send us ONE. One pillow… what in the world? Next, we had to remind them again that they forgot to send us that ONE pillow and blanket sheets.
In no way am I pointing fingers at only the hotel manager (name removed for confidentiality purposes) and I am not asking for a compensation. Just trying to write down my experience and frustrations as a whole. It’s not to say that the hotel didn’t have positives and I truly feel that they accommodated us by setting up an earlier breakfast time. I really really wanted to enjoy my stay here and the room itself was awesome — great place for a pre-​wedding hang out. It was unfortunate what transpired and hopefully no one has to go through this again.

I REALLY, really, really want to say yes to this wedding venue! Probably the best western-​styled one to date that can accommodate our large wedding party.
But because the fiancé didnt like the ceiling height (wtf?) for the ballroom we wanted, so we had to turn down the offer. RAWR. But seriously, prime location, beautiful ballrooms, great wedding packages, A+ event planner, and lots of complementary gifts (spa package for bride, tasting menu for 4 – 6 people, wedding cake and centerpieces all inclusive, Starwood hotel points, discounted rate for out of town guests, limo ride to the airport for honeymoon…) Wait, why did we say no again?
It was very easy to set up a meeting with Polina Yuen, one of the Sales manager/​event planner of Sheraton Parkway. We met up with her on a busy Saturday afternoon (really appreciate that!) I used to do co-​op at this Sheraton during high school (more than a decade ago!), so I actually remember seeing Polina before lol. Coming back here feels like home!
Polina is very knowledgeable and accommodating, and I love the fact that she understands the Chinese and western cultures when it comes to wedding planning. She is able to help us find a balance between the two with her expertise and suggestions. Polina is straightforward, and gives you a clear picture of the cost breakdown and event run down of what to expect before, during and after the wedding. I feel worry-​free and stress-​free working with her. A+ on her service: D
Wait, so why did we say no again?

I recently stayed here for a Christmas party for my workplace. I loved that they had free parking available and underground so I could protect my car from the snow. The banquet hall of the facility was decorated beautifully with tons of Christmas decorations. Unfortunately our head server wasn’t very friendly. He was yelling at the other staff and he would slam our plates down every time he came around. Not cool. The food was ok but very salty. Our hotel room was kept very clean but there was no soap for the bathtub so I had to use the hand soap. They did let us check out late which I thought was really considerate. I would come back for sure. More of a 3.5 star than 4

If your in the area you can’t go wrong with a stay here! I love the starbucks in the lobby!

Worst Experience ever. $ 7.99 a night for Wifi that cut out constantly, the ethernet hook up in the room didn’t work at all.
No complimentary breakfast.
Will never come back.

Recommend you avoid this one. Room was about equal to what I’d call a 2-​star hotel but usually even 1-​star hotels offer free wireless access (this hotel free wireless in lobby or eating area). Room was small. Electrical outlet was not working. «Living room» type comfortable chair offers little other than a sinking feeling. Hotel location is very poor in terms of access to Toronto — prepare for congested traffic anywhere near rush hour. Very little of interest in the immediate area — urban sprawl. Pluses: comfortable bed, clean room, complimentary (outdoor) parking, coffee maker.

Room was clean, comfortable bed. The front desk staff who checked me in was new I had to ask if my Starwood Gold was on file, more than once. Starbucks in the lobby doesn’t open until 630am. Otherwise comfortable, very.
Online reviews didn’t give this property anything to write home about but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s obviously an older hotel but nicely renovated rooms. Very comfortable beds. The walls are a bit paper thin, I could hear the guests next door to me. I would stay there again if I had to be in the area.
Conference room we were in didn’t have any windows, typical of the era the hotel was build in.

It’s an ok place. I wouldn’t send my friends there unless there was no other spot open. We had King room with french doors. It was a small room, and the bed was super wobbly — a tiny twitch of the finger would jiggle the other person, which made for uncomfortable sleeping. The bathroom was dated, as were most of the fixtures, and the room itself was oddly shaped with a tiny, long thin sitting room.
Room service food: Service was pleasant. Food was bland.
Restaurant: Service was pleasant. Again, food was bland.
Starbucks: Nice service. Their Sbux card machine was broken once while we were there.
Gift shop: They were nice and so sweet to let us basically wipe out their entire stock of bottled water.
Front desk: Decent and mostly nice.
Overall, I give it a solid: «meh.»

The staff were very helpful and quick to please. My friends don’t eat beef and they were more than happy to change them over to chicken. The place itself is very open and the lighting is very good. If you are planning an even for 300 – 450 people, they have the perfect place.

We recently attended a family event here which went over very well and our entire family had a load of fun!
As far as facilities, the main lobby and event space is so spread out. If you park in the garage, it’s a good long walk to the lobby. But, at least they don’t charge for parking! Their lobby area looks like it was recently renovated as it’s quite modern looking. I love that they had an actual Starbucks in the lobby. Sure, the prices were inflated by about 10% but they accepted Starbucks cards, however, no Starbucks points are rewarded.
The actual event space had an expansive foyer area, which is ideal for a pre-​reception, however, if you’re in the ballroom closest to the lobby, attendees of other events have to walk through your foyer to get to their event. The ballroom was looking quite dated as the carpets were dull and the lighting was very old school.
During the event, the banquet staff I encountered were all friendly, especially the bartender, as he never got tired of seeing my face, um, seven times. :) The evening’s dinner was a buffet which was well presented and quite delicious! Later in the evening, there was coffee service, dessert and chocolate fountain setup in the foyer area, definitely a nice touch.
Again, as we didn’t stay here, I can’t say anything about the guest rooms but, overall, we had a great time with the family, which is all that really matters.

Nothing here to write home about. A bit on the tired side with older bathroom fixtures and furnishings that make you wonder why a swap meet had enough old sticks to furnish an entire hotel.
On the plus side, mini fridge in the room without the «you touch, you buy» load of stuff so you can stick your own things in.
There is a Starbucks in the lobby (where isn’t there a Starbucks these days?) but venture out into the lot and visit Tim Hortons.
This area seems to a china suburbia. Decent place to drop your head to the pillow for the night but nothing more.

We thought about having our wedding reception here. Booking the appointment with Polina was very easy. She was so efficient with communication & knowledgeable with a lot of details explaining things to us re: breakdown of costs, wine, etc. We learned a lot from Polina as she made sure we were crystal clear on everything. Sheraton should be lucky they have her.
They’ve renovated the lobby since I last saw it in 2004. But still not very impressive… as other areas such as the conference rooms seem to be untouched. I think they need to do smth about the ballroom though as it does look a bit dated and dark (I think it’s the wallpaper). If we went w/​Sheraton not even uplighting will help. The cocktail reception space was massive. If they renovated the ballroom, get rid of the dark floral wallpaper & made it a little brighter… I’m sure ppl will be flocking over.
The price of food was as expected. You even get a free wedding cake from them! I recognized the cake dummys from George’s Tastees (Steeles/​Don Mills). Chinese food at Sheraton is catered by Rovey Banquet Services, one of the few and better Chinese caterers in the city. i give Polina a 5 star but Sheraton Parkway a 3 star

Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites is an A-​OK in term of the location and facilities…
It is right next to 404 so you can get to downtown quite fast and if you not driving, there are tons of restaurants: Both franchise and Asian within walking distance.
The hotel itself is quite dated in decorations. It has done a minor face-​lift but something is lacking compare to the newer hotels in the area.
The one thing I will really advice against not to stay at this hotel because there are always some sort of conferences or trade shows going on. I am talking about weekly bases! When there are functions, this place is jammed packed by non overnight guests and the lobby and everywhere can be just like a zoo…
If you want a leisure or romantic weekend getaway, stay clear… but if you come to Richmond Hill for a Chinese food eating feast weekend? This is the place to be!

Booked this hotel thinking it would be a nice «getaway» from Toronto without having to go as far as Niagara Falls for it to be a getaway. The location is good if you have a car, parking is easy and there are many places to go for entertainment, movies, bubble tea shops, restaurants that are all within a 5 minute drive.
I picked this hotel because they were the few that had a «jacuzzi» suite. My advice if you want a jacuzzi suite is to go to Niagara Falls because I was disappointed to see that the jacuzzi was simply a regular tub with jacuzzi nozzle heads that spray water. As far as I can tell, everything looks clean. They could benefit by getting new towels/​bath robes because they feel like sand paper.
The service was below average, I was slightly worried when the customer service rep. said my credit card was declined but found out later that my card was fine and that they just entered in the numbers wrong — that threw me off a bit. Then we were unsure how much was charged on the card and when we came back to inquire the other rep went into a LONG explanation about how the hold deposits work. Overall, it was nice to getaway from home, but I should have taken the extra trip to Niagara Falls.
