The pool is nicely designed, the large slide, the wave pool sessions, and the separate warm water areas(not hot tubs, but therefore bigger) are fun, although the place can indeed get crowded very fast. What is not fun is the general atmosphere which feels more like applying for a social service, staff is rather unfriendly and is rather inclined to sternly tell you all the do nots. They especially failed not explaining the main procedures and regulations properly, at least to us: we were visiting the pool for the first time and told the front desk that it was our first time and asked them to tell us what we need to know after being overwhelmed by the massive, confusing onslaught of billboards with rules and regulations in the lobby. Nevertheless we were completely taken by surprise after session 1 that we had to leave the pool between“pool sessions” for half an hour, having the choice between getting dressed again!! or freezing in wet swimsuits either in the gloomy, outdated locker rooms or in some sort of a freezing, air– conditioned lobby, where we ended up, very unpleasant. I have never encountered a pool that closes down in the middle of a day obviously for a lunch break… the lockers are operating with $ 1 coins, each time you open the locker you need to pay another coin, so prepare enough coins and factor in the extra expense. Since we had paid for two swim sessions(one without waves, the second with waves –so: there are not always waves, and therefore we paid for two sessions, since we wanted to experience waves) we were told that we had to show proof(best to all) the guards that we really, really paid for the two sessions, which was odd and nerve-wrecking(it is strange having to show a paper receipt to pool guards in the first place; besides, the flimsy paper receipt was constantly in danger of being destroyed by water, it barely survived the shower area) — easier systems could be envisioned, e. g color bracelets, clips etc. — overall the pool has potential, but you need to be able to ignore the rather hostile environment and a jungle of unclear rules to make it work, be prepared that it might not be relaxing.

First, if you’re sea sick, watch out… I felt a bit sick after 5 mins if waves. Change rooms were nice, $ 1 to lock the full lockers, 25 cents for the smaller ones. The slide was super fun! There was a super super warm pool which was overcrowded. Overall, the pool was a bit overcrowded. Consider this before bringing your family in.

Although the taxpayer funded facilty is awesome and I would like to use it the cleanliness of the pool is not up to standards– they let religious wear into the pool even though they wore those clothes outside– when you are surrounded by people wearing street clothes(head pieces– and gowns) it is hard to feel safe in a public pool– I talked to the town and they feel that it would be discrimnatory to ask them to remove religious wear in the pool wow– guess health standards take a 2nd seat — to a religious belief which I have no interest in supporting– but i do want clean pools

Agreed. You should check this place out. Kids that like water will love it. They have a beach style entry as well as an enormous hot tub area. My only issue was that the hot tub chlorine levels seemed to be hard on my eyes. However, I realize that the water must be kept bacteria free. Loads of fun…
