Yogurty’s

After going to Menchies and being very disappointed with the selection of flavours they have there (ex. marshmallow, grape soda *barf*), Yogurty’s is now becoming my favourite yogurt spot.
They offer many different flavours that are unique YET tasty including green tea, oreo, mangolicious and recently, chocolate hazelnut. I went twice in one week and they seemed to switch the flavours every so often which is a nice change! To top it off, they offer fruits, chocolate, mochi, popping bobas and many more! In terms of price, it is the same as Menchie’s I believe, and they also offer a points card now (FREE yogurt on your birthday).
The only downside is that they only open until 10PM, even on weekends. So if you have a yogurt craving, you better go early!

Yogurty:
Frozen Yogurt: melts very easily. Even with absolutely no lineup, the frozen yogurt still manages to have melted by the time I got to my seat. Even at the taste-​testing area, the yogurt is softer than other frozen yogurt places. Yogurty’s yoygurt just flops down forcing you to just slurp the watery yogurt down while Menchies’ stay up into a spiral shape easily and you can still give it a few licks.
Service: Poor
No one at the service counter upon arrival and took several minutes after that for someone to come out. If it were my first time there, I think I would have left confused. In my first experience, the older asian man who really gave a different vibe than the Yogurty brand was although friendly (tried to strike short conversation about our the icecream…), was well, I lack the word to describe.. So this is what I observed and has since etched into my mind everytime I think of Yogurty’s service: the yellow cleaning hand gloves. While people were at the yogurt pumping station, he put on the yellow cleaning hand gloves and mopped the floor. Before that, he was also very busy cleaning the trays. Then the customers were ready to pay at the cashier area, he then walked over with his yellow hand gloves, took them off at the cashier area and helped them. Then he went back into the back while another set of people came in with no server at the counter, and because he was busy cleaning the place up (which since he’s the only one working, cleaning is a service, but I believe for a store that speaks «fun, youth and enthusiasm». well the first impression of welcoming of the customers should take precedents. And I totally understand that things on the floor becomes a safety issue but because he was so busy being everyone in the store, he got pulled too tight actually welcome the customers and explain to them with enthusiasm the kind of store it is… which again is so important for this kind of brand.
So, again, the second experience back (we came back instead of another yogurt place 1, because we felt sorry for the asian man and thought he was the owner 2, because they have the taro and mango flavor), we entered the store with no one at the service counter. Went for the taste testing cups and only find the tray for it kind of dirty and only has 5 cups at most left inside. We helped ourselves to the cup and was about to start taste testing when someone finally appeared from the back who welcomed us with a QUESTIONS. and because she’s young looking and in everyday clothings, I thought at first that she’s a customer. She tried to tell us the availability for test cups but failed to look in detail that there’s almost none left that we just used 2, because we did’t want to use up their cups. She headed to the back to do some stuff (which we really weren’t so sure what was so important because I thought customers come first.) She came back out the second time around because she thought we were ready to pay, but when she realized she mistook our actions, she went back to the back and said she’ll come out to help us when we’re ready… So I suppose they have a camera that records the cash area because when I got to the cash area, she came back out again.
While we were eating, a family of 4 came in, by their expression also stunned to see no server at the cashier. They looked confused and it was probably their first time there. They wandered to the stations and managed to get the tub until I told them that they can actually taste test before committing to a flavor. and many minutes after that, the young girl finally appeared from the back to see if she can help them. and then quickly reverted back to the back and said she’ll help them when they’re ready… It really makes me wonder what is so important in the back that warrants the neglect of basic proper customer service. BEING PRESENT and READY to help. It really is a shame that for a same/​similar concept of Menchies who on any given night, will have floods of people and line ups at the cashier, this little place on a Saturday night was empty (It was empty when we arrived and only a family of four was there when we left). If it weren’t for the high school behind this store, which probably makes most of their cut from them at 4pm and some at lunch hour. if it weren’t for that, and unless there’s better management and customer service. I don’t think they will be here for long, especially given the availability and other better service yogurt place
My few cents for them:
— Have a Yogurty uniform
— Turn on the lights on the inside (often looks like it’s closed from the outside because of how lighted the outside is)
— Maybe even open the door and stand at the door for free samples, gives you opportunity to tell them about how the stations work
— Don’t go to the back so often, especially not when there are customers around.
— ENTHUSIASM for your product and service!

I am a huge fan of Yogurty’s. I am so sad they took away the wafer flavor at this location. Hopefully it will be back soon. That was my fave. Taro and Tart flavor are good as well. I always load up my tub with cookie dough, brownies, cheesecake, the lychee bubbles, oreo, chocolate chips and coconut flakes. The only thing bad about Yogurty’s is that it seems to melt so quickly. Sometimes it is already melting when you get it from the machine. So you have to select another flavor. There are usually at least 10 flavors to pick from or you can have a twist of the 2 flavors they preselected.

lots of variation in ice cream. always different flavours available. which could be a plus or negative if you’re flavour goes missing. the toppings are fresh! which include fruits like strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, honeydew, others like crushed almonds, cheesecake, brownie, cookie dough, snickers, oreo crumbs, gummie bears, strawberry crackling candy, coconut flakes, chocolate variations etc. there’s probably around 40? or 30? topping choices. ice cream choice was taro, green tea, tart, red velvet, hazelnut chocolate. the pear was my fav. also it is pay by the weight. would def return. oh, and also very clean there. (i.e no gooey messes). ok atmosphere. chairs available inside and outside

Neopolitan sooo good and almond cookie not bad. Although mochi was kinda hard so i’ll subtract one star until next time.

I am amazed everyday by the expansion of frozen yogurt into Toronto, it definitely makes me very happy to see that people are switching towards slightly healthier food choices!
Unfortunately, yogurty’s doesn’t compare to their competition in the most important part of their business. Their product is limited by the poor consistency and VERY low melting point! It would also be nice to see whether they use liquid or powder mix to produce their froyo, but given the characteristics of their product the latter is more likely.
The positives of their business is the location and their hours. Price point wise they are following the trend.
If I really had the urge to get some froyo I’d make a date down to head to Spadina/​Bloor to hit up YoYo!
Sorry Yogurty’s, nothing personal, but gotta step up your game if you want my earned dollars maybe you’d get them if I still went to BSS.

This outlet differs from Menchie’s in that I found the options for the froyo itself more vast, but the taste and quality were much better here.
I tried both the Red Velvet and Tart flavours and they both tasted exactly how you would expect. A good thing, I believe.
The red velvet at Menchie’s doesn’t give the name justice. The texture was a bit more grainy than Menchie’s, but I think it’s a natural yogurt occurence.
The options here are less desirable and a little lower quality than Menchie’s. No carob chips here, and I did notice Golden Grahams, Sour Patch kids and Cap ‘n crunch.
The service and cost are comparable to Menchie’s. A normal sized froyo (halfway filled) costs just under $ 6. Yogurty’s will be seeing a lot more of me, but mostly when I’ll be seeking a true sugar high.

I like the Tart flavour actually not so much the seasonal Apple Pie nor some others .
The Roasted Almonds reminds me of the Chinese Almond Soup Dessert flavour.
Cappuccino flavour did well too so I have to say I like half the selection they offer.
The sketch colorful abstract designs they base on can really mess with my head.
Reminds me of Hippie graphics from That ‘70s Show, whoaa man.
Especially if I focus too hard and too long on it. I guess I like simple, Menchies simple.
It was convenient though, after some Chinese food it’s a good place to chill.

I was so excited to hear there was a froyo place in Richmond hill that I spread the word to all my friends. Location wise they made a really good decision to be right beside a high school, I’m sure they will get a lot of business from them. Inside the little shop there is a good amount of seating, and the store design is not too bad but I do feel the flat screen tv is a little unnecessary.
Just like Menchies they provide you with sample cups and you are free to sample their flavours. Overall, I find their flavours less potent than other froyo places, and the yogurt has a water-​y and ice-​y taste to it. Also I generally get the original and it seems that their original tart is always half melted when it comes out of the machine (and it’s been like that for the couple of times I’ve been).
I do commend them from having a very large selection of toppings but I most likely wouldn’t visit out of choice.

Location! Location! Location!
Yogurty’s made an excellent business decision! It is located right in front of a high school. Bring the sweet and dessert to the high school students and they would come!
I picked the perfect time to visit Yogurty’s as around 3 pm this place was FULL! Full of teens stuffing their face with froyo. And even all the staffs here are young, really young…
10 selections of froyo from low fat, non fat, non dairy and the toppings are as interesting too…
When I was enjoying my froyo and listening to all the teens talking about school, boys and girls… it was definitely a different experience… Did I look out of place between them?

Ok I decided to cut sugar from my diet just recently and along comes this new place to the ‘Hill to spoil things.
Dayyaam! Yogurt is good for you right? Probiotics. sure :) well I was curious so the no sugar diet was put on hold temporarily. hehe
Entering the shop, first impression is that it’s spacious with a purple and white theme. the ceiling are very high about 25 feet making a very airy feel.

If you hadn’t been here before this is how you go about your business.
1. You start at the back with the frozen yogurt dispensing machines and fill up your cup to your hearts content.
2. slide over and work your way to the toppings bar.
3. then finally cash out on the scales.
yeah the price of your yougurty order is based on overall * weight * of your order (yougurt +toppings) reason for the scales.
Our sinful red velvet+white chocolate+brownie concoction scaled in at $ 7. as mentioned the price varyies depending on the weight of your order.
Some stand out items of this place:
Offers unique and great tasting frozen yogurt flavours — like the Red Velvet cake. cool!
A1 quality toppings — ingredients that ranged from fresh fruits, nuts and details like the Ghirardelli chocolate syrup. yum
Working the metal levers of the dispensing machine — it gives me a a satisfying feeling, this might be a man thing though. :p
LCD monitor where you can Tweet to and view your tweets live — this is geeky and high tech I know, but cool nonetheless.

This is my Fav froyo shop. They have the most flavourful yogurts the flavour taste exactly the same as it’s name. The frozen yogurt doesn’t melt quickly and they have so many toppings to choose from. lots of fresh fruits cut up into very small piece, mochi pieces! and the cheesecake was so delicious. and lots of crunchy bits to choose from. It’s very roomy and lots of chairs inside.
