History

Established in 2004.

Established in 2004, by Chris O’brien, as a local option to the big overpriced franchises, 604-​TRASH-​IT has undergone steady growth throughout Metro. In 2007 – 2008, during the financial crisis, like many small businesses, we experienced a slow down. We sold off some equipment and refocused. In 2012 there was a change in ownership and along with it came fresh insight and energy to restart growth and create jobs. Since the takeover, the new owner, Dave Abercrombie, has brought 3 fold growth in capacity and jobs. Now operating out of Richmond, 604-​TRASH-​IT is centrally located to quickly service all clients and to help minimize driving time and carbon usage.

Business Owner

The past decade has been an exciting discovery into three key sectors: Real Estate, IT and Aviation. Each are unique to one another, but together started the foundation for my professional career. This required dynamic learning and thinking, displaying my ability to apply critical skill sets across a spectrum of industries. These industries continue to interest, and motivate me professionally and personally.

I strongly believe in constant learning. If you aren’t learning, you are stagnant. If you aren’t growing, you are shrinking. Open a book, attend a lecture, write a test, memorize a formula; put your brain to work and it will work for you.

Today I am a business owner. My product, in development, is a system that runs the business, with people that run the system. The industry is Disposal and Recycling, which is a recession proof, highly competitive business, that requires switched-​on and motivated people.
