It is a bit unusual to find a convenience store in an airport, but it is not really as weird as it sounds. I have seen them at airports in Japan, so they are not uncommon. This 7-Eleven is located in the domestic terminal of YVR Airport on Level 1. This store has the distinction of being the first 7-Eleven airport location in the world. My main reason for visiting this store is because they sell the Translink DayPass here. Unfortunately, you can’t get the DayPass at the YVR-Airport Station upstairs so you will need to come here to buy them. It is worth going through the trouble of buying one because there is a $ 5 surcharge added on to the ticket price if you are travelling on SkyTrain from YVR. The cards don’t have any dates on them, but the cashier scans them to active it. I am assuming the cards become activated the first time you swipe them to pay the fare. If you don’t have any CAD, there is an ATM in the store that you can draw cash from. If your card has the Allpoint symbol, that is great since the one here is part of that network so you can withdraw cash without a surcharge. If you have arrived in Canada and intend to use public transportation to get around, make sure to stop by this 7-Eleven before heading out. Although you don’t expect a 7-Eleven at the airport, it is a welcomed addition because of the offerings here.

Yes I am aware that there is a 7 – 11 inside YVR airport and that this is weird, however, I needed a slurpy and this was the place to get it. I am sure that I have exceeded my 150 ml allowance in pure frozen sugar.

This was my daily DayPass stop while staying at the local Fairmont Hotel at the other end of the terminal. It has all of your typical spontaneous snackings, drinks, foodstuffs and other take-out-sized toiletries/home stuffs. There was one morning where the cashier mixed in a slick sales pitch for the fresh deli food. No thanks, buddy.

A good place to have in an airport, and it even(like all of YVR) has street pricing. Your regular convenience store with some extra items. Organic tea less than $ 2. Lots of candy and snacks. Milk, bread, sandwhiches, chicken wings, taquitos, etc. Get your transit ticket booklets, day passes, etc from here and save the $ 5 train surcharge for leaving YVR. The postal outlet for YVR is located inside of this 7 – 11. If you’re loking for it, it is on the ground level directly underneath domestic arrivals.
