Dogs’ Avenue (Grooming & Retail)

My dog Cairo is a very cautious and naughty boy that only a few talented people can handle (i.e. me). However every time I want to comb him or make him pretty he’s quite uncooperative so my mom entrusts the team at Dog’s Avenue to wave their magic wand and *POOF!” turn Cairo into a clean, neatly trimmed and handsome doggy.
We’ve been Dog’s Avenue’s loyalists for the past 5 years and we’ve always had a pleasant experience with service (love the cheery greeting and prompt notification), the result — GQ-​looking-​dog, and the price (for about $ 55).

Absolutely unacceptable. I bring all 3 of dogs there and when they first opened the service was great. Now they tell me never to bring my dog back for nail clipping cause he moves too much. Poor service and very bad attitude. Unprofessional!

I really like their service. They are always very friendly. They do a great job trimming my dog and know exactly how to fix things when you have a problem. An example of this is that I was going to shave my golden for the summer. However, the owner suggested that I should make the hair super short on his body and just shave a strip on his tummy. That’s what I ended up doing and my dog was happy without feeling ashamed! It was harder to book an appointment with a huge golden because I had to do it at least a week or two before. The Golden’s hair cut and shower took about 3 hours. However, now I have a Yorkie, it takes about an hour and I got in the day I called. At one point all of my dogs went to dog’s ave to get a hair cut or shower because they were sick or old. I trust them with all my dogs! Thank you dog’s ave!

I’m extremely disappointed with this place. I’ve been coming for years when they first opened and the grooming service was good and NO longer is available. They forget to clip my dogs nails and therefore it started to grow into her skin which caused and infection that had to be dealt with at the Vet ! Then the next time they shaved her basis of by accident to the skin and now it s irritated. I will not be going back.

I’m shocked at all the dismal and negative reviews. I’ve talked to regular customers who bring their dogs here and they keep coming back. At first I was deterred by those negative reviews and then after checking out those reviewers figured out that many are bogus and they like to only write about stuff they’re unhappy about. They are sad sad people.
From my encounter I will write a positive review because they deserve it. The lady owner might come across as a bit rough but they did a good job on our poodle and they seem to do a lot of poodles. It took longer than anticipated because they were pretty busy. So obviously people don’t really pay attention to Unilocal reviews anymore. Still I’m here to say something good. and the price was decent for about $ 55-​$ 60.
So when you read a negative review from a negative and sad and unhappy writer, just realize that those people just had a bad day. Your experience could be much better.

I took my dog here for grooming 3 times. I have to say the first 2 times I was very satisfied with the cut and everything. However, the 3^rd time I brought him here the groomer accidentally cut his back leg and told me it was because his hair was too «matted». They took him to the vet clinic next door right away and he got a few stitches.
On their website, it says the groomer has had over 22 years experience. I want to give a higher rating, but with the accident… I’m sorry, I can’t.
