Can’t go wrong eating here for lunch or dinner. For dinner order the soya chicken. During the King Crab season get the King Crab three ways. Lunch, beef brisket with Lo Mein is my favorite. *Bring someone that can read Chinese as the best dishes are usually not on the English menu.

Decided to come here for lunch because I was too hungry and too lazy to move my car. Didn’t feel like subs or Japanese and thought, maybe a noodle would be good. Walked in at 11:40am and the place was dead with one other table. Decided to order their lunch special — laminated with most of the items from their regular menu and comes with a hot drink. Ordered Beef Brisket in Soup Noodle and Milk Tea. When it came, I was thinking I should have move my car. The bowl of brisket and noodle did not look appetizing at all, it had a film of oil and they scattered dried garlic slivers on top. I have this item many times before and have never seen the garlic slivers on it. After I dug it all out, the brisket was surprisingly tender and the noodle was ok with the right amount of chewy. The milk tea is typical but if you order it by itself it is $ 2.50. There are more choices in Richmond for Wonton noodles type place, I will move my car next time.

I’ve never been here before but I came with a friend and some others for king crab. And it did not disappoint. We had crab legs 2 ways: –with egg white and white wine, and green onions(so delicate and amazing); –with garlic, soy sauce, and green onions We also had the knuckles, noodles with drippings, and fried rice in the crab shell. I thought all of the dishes were very well done. Definitely give this place a try for king crab.

With all the Asian restaurants in Richmond, Excelsior comes on top every time. King crab was amazing! Won Ton noodles made perfect every time. Fried chicken with spicy chunks of goodness is a must. If you had a chance to eat here and enjoyed it, tell Turbo the cook how you feel!

Came here once for king crab and loved it. Came back just for dinner and was appalled. It was busy, but the place was dirty, service lacked and it was just an unpleasant experience. The washrooms for starters had bugs. Worse part I went before eating. We ordered some typical dishes, green beans, spareribs, hot n sour soup, hainanese chicken. Everything was so oily!!! The food also wasn’t very flavorful it all had a monotonous feel to it. The chicken was also not properly cleaned so the hairs were very abundant but not as bad as I’ve tried elsewhere *cough*. Service was extremely rushed and although they were sufficient, they don’t have a sands of food safe… It was pretty scary watching the cashier handle food and waitresses holding cups by the rim, especially after seeing their washroom! Never coming back here. If you have been to an Asian hole in the wall place in Asia this is what it’s like. Kind of.

If you haven’t had crab cooked 4-ways, you’re in for a treat. If you’re not sure what to order, the waitresses will gladly introduce you to their«specials» menu. You might not know what you’re going to get, but it will nonetheless impress you. Our menu: Dungeness crab-4-ways * Steamed crab legs — Tender, juicy, with garlic and slivers of green onion. The seasoning is light, tasteful, and does not overpower the crab meat. With either a fork or pair of chopstick, the meat was easy to separate from the shell. * Yi Mien — A very simple dish, but one of my favorites from the four options. The juice from the first dish is taken to make a delectable noodle dish which also incorporated garlic and green onion. * Fried rice baked in the crab head with a layer of white cheese — Not my favorite of the four options, but compared to the olden days, having crab fried rice is a delicacy. Yellow in color, like yellow curry rice, the aroma of crab is not lacking. * Fried crab — Fried with good crispiness with tender crab meat; many restaurants can’t master this skill, so it pleases me to find one that does. We also had fried pork intestines with pineapples. I would never think to put the two together, but it’s refreshingly delicious! Props to my friend who recommended the idea, no one at the table believed her, but everyone was thoroughly impressed. With quick service, the waitress brings out your«meal» to confirm its size for the table. Packed all the time, it’s best to reserve if you have more than 6 people in your party and also important to know what to order. Thankfully we had a special chef order our dishes for us ahead of time, so the reward was a golden medal on our taste buds. Go with an empty stomach and get ready to feed your wildest dreams.

It’s a great place to go for Alaskan King Crab when in season. The soya sauce duck is amazing but you need to reserve an order in advance.

It may not be barbeque season yet for you to roll out your Dub Box Camper or for you to use your Kettle Pizza or even for your ever stylish ThermaFresh Cardboard Cooler Boxes made from NorShield waterproof inner lining for weatherproofing and reusability… but you can rub your bellies, loosen your belt slightly and lighten your wallet reluctantly after you indulge on some Paralithodes Camtschaticus. During the winter months, Alaskan king crabs are commercially harvested for your enjoyment in a 3 – 4 course meal. Legs are usually steamed with clear broth(), minced garlic() or egg white and Hua Diao Wine()… Of course you can always option to deep fry with salt and pepper, but why would you want to waste the sweet essence of this tasty delicacy? 1.Legs served 1 or 2 ways 2.Save the sauce! Serve up the essence with thin/thick egg noodles, E-Mein, etc… 3.Knuckles — great for stir frying with salt and pepper, premium soy sauce and onions, 4.Crab Shell — baked rice with Portuguese curry cream sauce These crustaceans range between 8 – 12 lbs(depending on season) and requires 6+ dining partners. During this time, thousands of hungry mouth-wateringmobs wait eagerly to be seated to drop a few hundred dollars just for a taste of this annual event. We often like to go to Excelsior aside from the regular go to places… She may not be pretty to look at and may not offer the most comfortable seating, but Excelsior is one of those that charms you with their seafood — not the presentation. Word on the street has it that they have a new management team… By 7pm most of the larger crabs were already gone and we were left with a 8.2lbs beauty. Legs served 2 ways clear broth() and egg white and Hua Diao Wine(). Clear broth is light and lets the crab essence shine. Rice wine brightens the fresh sweetness of the crab meat. Egg white coats it like a blanket and adds texture. Stir Fried knuckles in House Special sauce. This is a very flavorful sauce loaded with spices, herbs, and dried shrimps. The crab is dry tossed. It seems the sauce is heavy on black pepper now and there doesn’t seem to be as much dried shrimps as there used to be… Nonetheless, this is a must try along with the Special Dry Curry also. Thin egg noodles served with crab juices! Garlic Snow Peas — Very fresh and buttery soft. Crab Shell — baked rice with Portuguese curry cream sauce. Fragrant and creamy. Let the crab flavor seep in. I see some people order Tomato Sauce but really why would you want to overpower the crabby goodness? Save the yin-yang rice for another day… We left with our pants a little tighter and stomachs a little rounder… good night my friends, I believe I have food coma.

Came here to kill some Alaskan king crabs. Today they were $ 22/lb. Of course this fluctuates with the market, but they were in line with other places. Parking is a bit tight here as there are several restaurants in the same strip mall. So you’ll have to jockey for spots. The place was completely full. Fortunately there is a large hidden room in the back. The only problem with this room is that there’s a draft if you sit by the windows. Some of my friends were freezing the whole night. The food was quite tasty overall, but several dishes were too salty, while others were too bland. King crab — done 2 different ways. Garlic is always good, and ginger and green onions is a bit unique, but also worked. The restaurant also made some of the pieces salty-peppery style, and some with curry. These worked well. However, the fried rice that was served in the carapace was quite bland. Some of the dishes that were too salty included the beef steaks with mushroom, and deep-fried chicken wings. The rest of the dishes were quite tasty, but didn’t really stand out. Not to say they were bad. One dish that stood out in a good way was dark pork soup. Not sure exactly what was in it(my friends ordered) but it was a very dark green, and the meat was almost pitch black. The verdict? Good for crab, not sure about the other dishes.

i came here with a coworker for late lunch(or chinese«late afternoon tea»). the service was ok, fast and efficient, as was expected at hong kong-like cafes such as this. if you are looking for more service other than order taking, receiving your food, and on occasion filling your tea cup, then you will be disappointed. my coworker and i ordered a «late afternoon tea» combo, which came to about $ 7.50 per person(tax and tips included) — not bad in terms of price. we both got the beef noodle in soup and the combo came with a hot drink. the food was pretty good. the utensils were clean. it’s a good place, but quite like the average hong kong styled cafes. nothing amazing stood out but if i were in the area and craving hong kong styled food, then i would consider coming here.

Spontaneous Richmond roaming… here I go. Quieter afternoon. I sat up front(back) and got some Tofu Curry with rice. Simple and tasty, just how I like it. Near SkyTrain.

Good for takeout and the food quality is both very good for the price. Definitely one of the better Cantonese places unless you want to pay a lot more. The tofu dish was great, but the sweet and soar pork was fatty.
I live to eat ..

We came here for early dinner without reservation, just tried to see any luck on Friday night. We got seated almost right the way around 6 and ordered the simple dishes for causal dinner. Soy sauce chicken — very juicy and tender. Cabbage with pork cheek in spicy sauce — it wasn’t spicy and so tasty. Mushroom with gan lan — the mushroom soft and perfect oyster sauce in gan lan. Overall, the dishes were good but a bit oily. The service was fair may be they’re too busy and prefer big spender customers.

This place has your typical HK café’s menu– you wont find surprises here. However the dishes came out perfectly executed(beef tender, sauce full of flavor etc) and came out FAST! Came with 5 other very hungry folks and luckily we didn’t have to wait long.

Bay Fung Tong Crab here is AMMMAAAZZZIIING. SODELICIOUS I’d go again, easy. USUALLY the wonton noodle soup is one of the best, but the last time I went it was a little bland and my poor bf had to add SALTTOIT… the horror! Anyhow, but for a typical canton style fast food joint, it’s pretty good and reliable.

King Crab season has come early this year so we headed here for what else… King Crab… all 12 lbs of it($ 14.99/lb). You tell the servers how many pounds of crab you want, they pick one from their small aquarium, show it to you and then into the kitchen goes the King. If you come here, you gotta love crab because if you order the King Crab, your crab parts are cooked 3 different ways. First came out the legs with tons of green onions and garlic on top. The legs were cracked open for you and crab forks were given so it was very easy to eat. The next dish that came out was the body of the crab which was stir-fryed in XO sauce. This was my fave, it was well seasoned and very tasty. Then fried rice was served in the crab’s head and the sauce and juice from the first dish was used to mix with noodles. We were also served house soup and apparently, you can get a reasonable amount of re-fills on the soup which was well flavored(not sure what was in it other than lotus roots). To finish off the meal, we had red bean soup which I didn’t try. The place is located in a strip mall so there’s adequate parking. It’s a small place and service is average.

Located near Staples, the restaurant seems to be always busy. One of the more old fashioned restaurant where for the servers are not great with English orders. The place is also rather cramped, but personally I find it as part of the charm of the establishment. Most of the dishes that I tried here have been pretty good. Most are on par, or even better with some of the larger Chinese restaurants in the area. They are well known for their Crab with garlic dish, which I vouch for. A great crab dish with garlic chips and crunchy flour. A lovable hole in the wall.
