Saddest Chinese food ever. Terrible service. I ordered beef and broccoli chow mein. There were 6 pieces of broccoli and 5 small pieces of beef thrown on top of the saddest chow mein I’ve ever seen. Ive eaten a lot of Chinese food. I lived in downtown Chinatown for years. This was the laziest/saddest attempt at food I’ve ever seen. Both sloppy and stale! How does that even happen??? Do not waste your money here.

2.5 stars? Service is polite and quick. Food is good. Prices are affordable. The restaurant itself is in dire need of renovations BIGTIME!!! Two out of three women’s toilets are broken. One stall is used for storage. Sinks are broken. Floors are greasy slippery. Vinyl seats are tattered and torn up. Free wifi though. If this place is fixed up I can see great potential for a regular meeting place. However … Prices will go up I’m sure!

With the 3 stars, which is high. Service was swift, 3 – 4 waiters there, they do their jobs swiftly, no toothy smiles, no frowns either, just pokerface which is fine for me since it is Richmond after all. I asked them about their house specials and menu, waitress gave me sufficient answers no dimwittedness or attitude, which was great. I ordered 4 entrees and 1 appetizer, no set meals today. Arrived around 4:50 ordered before 5, yet our first dish, the popcorn chicken arrived at 5:20ish which was quite a long time to wait for the appetizer considering the portion was small. The first 3 entrees arrived at 5:30 with the final dish at 5:40, accurate as according to my camera. Besides 3 other tables with customers already served their food and talking, we waited considerably long. Food was subpar and without feeling to it. Not bad, not great. Portion was pretty good though.

We came here as a large group during prime dinner time on a Sunday evening. We were all ecstatic that we were able to make a last minute reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was pretty much empty at 7:30 pm on a Sunday. Even with our large group, the restaurant wasn’t even ¼ full. This restaurant has a very wide selection, from HK style meals, to Taiwanese BBT meals, mini hotpots, mixed grill plates, and canto style dinners(dishes with soup, rice, dessert). The prices were pretty good. For instance, you can get a mixed rill plate with 2 types of meat, with soup, rice/spaghetti/fries, and a drink for $ 10. A canto style dinner with six dishes(comes with soup, rice and dessert) came out to $ 80, and comes with a free crab. Our large group was split into two tables and our table got the canto style 6 dish dinner. I found the dishes to be on the smaller size but for the price I paid, I thought it was reasonable. The food itself was so so. It wasn’t terrible but not good either. Service was competent. They gave us what we need when we asked for it, no complaints there. And they also accept Debit! There is a limited number of parking spots so if you go during the afternoon when all the other businesses in that complex are open, you might have to park at Richmond Centre across the street. Overall, if I had a choice, I wouldn’t come back. Nor would I recommend it. If you are in Richmond, there are many many better options out there.

solid 2.5 stars if this helps. Food, a decent 3 star. Your typical chinese/taiwanese/western breakfast and all, the variety’s there, to me, it’s all the same as a bit indifferent. Even some malaysian dishes like Mee Goreng. But what gets me is trying to organize a catering event for a client, and guess what their delivery fee is? 10% on top of the regular menu pricing!!! Never heard that before. It is a nicer establishment than Marpole, even a tad more dimmer for that extra romantic touch. Lots of parking in this plaza, in fact, the whole row on the south side is marked with Flo.

We wanted to try the place out as recommended by mother in law. First off the parking is limited and not easy to access. We went on a weekday night and noticed it was not very busy. The place has a Hong Kong style café look but you can tell was a bit run down.(carpets dirty, boxes strewn about, grease everywhere, etc.). During dinner what we found was that the servers were unusually rude. They talked down to us to not speak Mandarin even though we were not talking to her during ordering. When we asked about several items on the menu, she was very short in answering and seemed to be in a hurry. We know that Asian restaurants can be like this so we wanted to see if the food would be worth it. We ordered Curry Beef, Curry Fish, Malay bread, Pork/Rice, and Steak/pork combo special. The dishes were all decent, a bit small for Hong Kong café style, except the Steak /pork combo. The steak came out tough and raw, and the gravy had an extremely burnt taste. To top it off, when we asked for containers for leftovers they charged us $ 0.25 each, which I never see at any Chinese restaurant. With so many restaurants in Richmond,(Mui Garden which is much better, is right around the corner), I would not go back there.

I’ll admit to a bit of cultural bias: «tea room,» to me, inspires visions of someplace in London where old folks congregate to sip Earl Grey and eat cucumber sandwiches with the best part of the bread cut off so they don’t have to gum it! Lest that sound unkind, I actually enjoyed such a place, in London, in my early 20s no less… but it’s not everyone’s, er, cup of tea. Additionally, «Flo Tea» sounds a lot like«floatie,» which in my childhood was a turd that didn’t go down when you flushed. Not a real appetizing image, but somehow my girlfriend and I wandered in, to our great advantage. Yes, Flo Tea Room serves diners(surprise!) the glasses of hot tea that are ubiquitous throughout the area, and yes, you can obtain various other kinds of hot and bubble teas, but really, it’s a restaurant that offers a big drink menu. The smoothies are wonderful: we got hooked on a concoction called Tinkerbell that was reminiscent of a virgin piña colada crossed with a high-end strawberry slurpee, with tapioca balls thrown in to remind you that you sure ain’t at 7 – 11! We weren’t very hungry on our(three!) trips here, but did sample a curry chicken that was wonderful, though the sauce was perhaps richer and sweeter than I’d have preferred. The server was remarkably patient with our many questions, despite her limited English and our non-existent Chinese, and she brought our drinks quickly even though the place was fairly busy. I probably wouldn’t go to Flo’s for dinner, given all the culinary competition in the area, but for a late bite to eat or something sweet to drink, it’s definitely worth a try.

We really enjoy Flo Richmond. Service is always fast and efficient. Whenever we come here, we are quickly sat down and given tea. We have been to many other HK style restaurants without even this most basic service. Usually service is pretty quick for ordering as well. We really like the ladies working there — they are always so nice! The favorite thing we always order is the Mixed Grill. It’s the best bang for your buck! 2 large pieces of meat with rice or spaghetti, comes with your choice of soup, and hot HK drink. What a deal! Oh, and we love their Russian Borsche… So tasty. Also another one of our favorites is the«do it yourself hot pot». We usually share this and the seafood and meat is always super fresh. I love the original soup base — full of flavours. One time we had the baked spaghetti and meat sauce, baked sole fillet with spinach, and French Toast. The full western HK style meal was more than satisfying, not to mention really in our budget!

Flavour is good but the portions are really small for the price. The curry vegetable dish I ordered was 7.25 and it literally consists of two pieces of potato, one piece of bak Chou, two carrots, one zucchini, and 3 pieces of tofu. For that price, you’d think the dish would be slightly bigger. And the customer service is pretty terrible too. Nobody here ever smiles and even that would be okay in a HK restaurant if they were efficient. But it took forever to flag someone down and when I did order a curry and a plate of jellyfish, the waitress gave me a dirty look when I asked for no onions in my curry. I don’t see what the big deal is or why my request warranted such negative attitude. I got my curry first which made me wonder what was taking so long with the jellyfish and so I asked the waiter. He said he’d check on it and took so long to come back that I’d finished my curry by then. When he DID come back 25 minutes later, all he said was that they’d forgotten it and asked if I still wanted it. He didn’t apologize and didn’t even look slightly apologetic. I mean seriously, you have that receipt reminding customers to tip well but the staff here do absolutely nothing to earn those tips. Ridiculous. I for one, will not be leaving a huge tip for this kind of service

Do I have to give a star??? ***DONOT get this wrong, the old Flo in Vancouver was more than just OK, but it’s closed for some reason… ***This Flo is NOT the same as the old one in Vancouver! Tried Flo with my mom since we got a 80% coupon. The waitress told me to stop when I wanted to ask if I needed to give her the coupon beforehand while she was writing the order… –30 — WARM and sweetnessless lemon coke on the first attempt. It was right on the 2nd attempt? Why did they even bother to give it to me in the first place? –5 — The food was overprice, price vs quality+amount –10 — meat(chicken and beef steaks), overcooked even when she asked and I said mid-rare. Tasteless meat and overly pan-fried –30 DONOT even bother to try unless you have 80+% coupon… Seriously, there are restaurants much better than this… i.e. 1+1, Aberdeen foodcourt and ParkerPlace foodcourt I will definitely NOT going back again even when the name is changed, AGAIN! Final score: 25%

So disappointed with this Flo. Was bummed to see that the one on Granville had officially gone. Just after I fell in love with their salty-pepper chicken Taiwanese style soup. Came to this one the other night to order the soup mentioned above. It was as if they emptied a package of Mamee Chicken flavour instant noodle soup, threw in some random noodles that I’ve never seen and skimped out on giving me chicken! I got about 6 pieces. WHATISTHISMADNESS? Heard the chef changed. Disappointed. Won’t be returning to Flo. Plus, I felt like I kept getting stared it. Was it the fact I was the only«white» person in the joint? I’m half Chinese! Stop staring! Yeesh. Also, as we were receiving the bill, I asked for a cup of water, and I never got it. Not a wise move, not so pretty or nice leng jai!

Flo Tea Richmond is located where once Ginger & Garlic Malaysian Restaurant and Grill and Honolulu Café used to operate. Across from Richmond Centre the restaurant is spacious with booth seats and tables. Unfortunately parking isn’t the most convenient and if you don’t arrive before noon, good luck! They still serve a lot of the Malaysian food they had from Ginger & Garlic, in addition to Szechuan, mix-and-match combos, and even claypot rice. They have a lot of snacks and a gimmicky Herro Flo combo where you choose your flavour of mayo to be served alongside Crispy Salt and Pepper Chicken and Fries. This is not your typical Taiwanese bubble tea café as you would imagine it to resemble Pearl Castle or Leisure; instead they offer a bit of everything. Again, I am here at Flo during a busy lunch hour to have catch up with my friend Kathy. While waiting for her I pre-ordered the Chinese mushroom and chicken claypot rice. Please note that this takes approx. 20 mins to prepare, so give yourself plenty of time or even call ahead so it is ready when you arrive! The portion was quite generous as you can easily serve 4 bowls of rice. Best to share because I ended up packing more than half to go. One thing to watch up for when eating this chicken pot rice is that there are a lot of small broken bones — perhaps the knife skills or the knife itself requires some sharpening! If you find yourself craving claypot rice, you can always head over to James Snack for the juicier version. Kathy ordered the Black Bean Chicken Chow Mein. This came very quick and the noodles were crispy. The sauce itself could use a little more flavouring. This was more than enough for one person and she also had lunch for the next time! Black Sesame milk tea, served in a to-go cup with lots of black sesame, but not milky enough. Typically I like to visit Flo on Granville St, I find that their hot almond milk tea is rich and tastiest. I think if the Richmond location can make some minor adjustments it can be a lot more.

A bit below average Hk style restaraunt. Same quality is ginger&garlic. Come for the cheap late nights(fried pork buns & a drink for less than 5 dollars!)

This is the same Flo as Granville but the menu is unlike that of the Flo Tea in Vancouver. I found the food was much better than the other one, however, the parking lot is suck! It mixes HK style café and Taiwanese meals. We came here for lunch and found the portion of food and bubble tea were pretty good. Curry beef brisket — curry taste rich and strong and beef brisket very tender Pork chop, ham and egg spaghetti — quite blend but ok. Prawn and spinach penne in creamy sauce — so creamy and delicious Taiwan style Chicken nugget with fries — chicken pretty juicy and crispy. The service was fine but a bit slow.

I have yet to eat at this location and only had bubble tea. I purchased a fantastic deal through red pocket with the price of only $ 2 including pearls! I am a bbtea fanatic so needless to say this was heaven. You give your voucher and get a special stamp card that fills at 10 for the prepaid $ 20. I ordered a lychee coconut smoothie with mango jelly for hubby and passion fruit mango smoothie with pearls for me. Not sure what makes it a smoothie other than a slush style. The menu is big so there are lots of choices to choose from for my many, many bbteas to go. The parking looks tiny because the spots are designated. The inside is small but the décor is quite modern. The bbtea is usually good, but this time around it was a bit watery for my liking. The service is good, although a bit slow but that may have been because lunch time gets busy.

Flo Tea Room in Vancouver has always been a favourite place of mine so I was pretty happy when it opened up in Richmond. I finally got a chance to try it out. The problem with the location of this place is that parking is super limited. In fact, when I went they actually had a parking lot attendant to give you an ETA of the parking wait time. Inside, they have renovated the place a bit to make it newer than its previous tenant, Ginger and Garlic. Their menu is essentially the same as the location in Vancouver, with mini Flo meals available all day. I got my usual baked meat sauce with chicken spaghetti, and added $ 2.00 for a red bean slush to my meal. To me, the spaghetti is not as good as I’ve had it before, but the red bean slush was awesome. The perfect blend of red bean and milk, and just enough sweetness so that the flavor of the red bean is still there, and blended with just enough ice to keep the drink from being too watery. I was very impressed. I’ll definitely be back for the red bean drink alone.

This restaurant took over the old space of Spice House, and Honolulu Café prior. It’s the standard HK style café fare in terms of menu and pricing. However, the quality is a bit lower than what I have experienced from KamDo or others alike. The set dinner I ordered was beef steak and skwered prawns with rice on a pepper sauce. The beef was chewy, prawns with shell made it very difficult to eat, and the pepper sauce has no spiciness at all. The only redeeming factor is the nice décor and comfortable seating. And fairly efficient and friendly service.
