Jet Pet Resort

**I want to preface this review by saying I am a nervous, obsessive dog owner that basically thinks no one can care for my dog-​child like I can, and that I would 110% recommend Jet Pet for all other nervous dog mom or dads out there.
My husband and I left our dog at Jet Pet Resort for a five-​night stay last week. It was our first time leaving him for that long AND with «strangers» and we were beyond nervous to do so. Arnold is a 1.5 year old Chihuahua mix that is afraid of everything and has not been socialized as much as he should be with other dogs.
The initial meeting at Jet Pet put us at ease right away. We opted to board him in a room with webcam access so we could check in on him whenever we felt the urge, which ended up being a great feature. The team at Jet Pet posted pictures of him playing in the dog lounge every day, and were quick to respond to our Facebook comments. They told us he had a nervous first day but from that point on bonded well with other small dogs in the small-​dog only lounge (another HUGE plus for anyone owning a 5-​pound dog.)
When we picked Arnold up he was not as excited to see us as we had anticipated because he had so much fun with the humans and the dogs at Jet Pet. haha.
We plan to continue to bring him to Jet Pet for their daycare service because the team is so loving and attentive, and we are SO relieved that we found them so we can start planning our next trip knowing we have a safe, reliable place to board Arnold while we’re away! :)

We just picked up Brinkley from Jetpet after a twelve day stay. During his stay, we were able to watch him in his room on an app except for the last few days where he was upgraded to a luxury suite due to renovations. We could see how eager he was in the first few days to get out with the general population and then over the course of the week we saw how tired he was from playing with all his new buddies. They posted pictures of him on Facebook daily and we knew we left him in a good place when we saw his smiley mug every day. On the day we picked him up, we had them bathe and brush him before he came home. He smelled so good and was very fluffy… I imagine much better than he did after playing with all his new friends. We would definitely do the bath again! Four of the staff members came and gave him good bye hugs when we left and gave him a glowing report card. They told us he was often the «centre of attention»…Lol! I forgot to mention that Brinkley is a one year old intact golden retriever full of energy! When we pulled out of the parking lot, he looked back to the building with longing. I don’t think he wanted to leave! Thank you to the staff at Jetpet for all the care and attention to our fur baby and making him feel at home. We will definitely be back again! Brinkley sends his hugs and kisses too!

My dog goes to daycare at Jet Pet almost every day and she usually races to the front door pawing to be let in. By the end of the day she’s exhausted and sleeps during the car ride home. Both my dog AND cat have stayed overnight at some point. My dog stayed in a nice big executive suite while my cat stayed in the cat lounge. My cat LOVES this lounge! He struts in, sniffs his friends, then finds a good spot to watch tv. I can login to the web cam while on my trip and see him moving around. Love this place for my pets!

I was nervous about leaving my 2 rescue dogs for a week, because I thought it might be similar to staying in a shelter and they might get stressed. But it was the opposite! My dogs were very happy — I could see it in the pictures they posted daily (even over the holiday season). They had a room together and enjoyed playing in the common area with dogs of their size and staff.
With the NEW ownership as of July 2014, there are trained vet techs on staff which I thought was beneficial in case there was a problem. I was able to call in to make sure there were no issues too (just nervous leaving them). I would definitely come back!

I’ve taken my dog to several dog hotels in the lower mainland, and Jet Pet is my favourite. Professional, clean, and friendly. I have an older pug that I worry about boarding… but I can leave her here without fretting too much. Safety is a big concern for me, which is why I appreciate that they separate the big dogs/​small dogs and they each have separate hotel rooms at night. The pictures of they post of each dog everyday (multiple shots on some days!) also eases my mind when I’m on vacation.
I’ve dealt with a few of their staff members and they have all been friendly and helpful. Most recently, I dealt with Mike, who was really great at helping me sort out booking dates for my vacation (Thanks Mike!).
Jet pet is a great place to leave your pet without worry! Will definitely be bringing my dog back here again.

As a dog lover I STRONGLY advise you to look at the Not Recommended reviews that Unilocal and jetpet are hiding from view.
UPDATE: I was contacted by new management who want to improve the experience and perception, I look forward to giving JPR another shot as this is an essence an important service for dog people. SB

As promised here is my updated review. After my babies (yes my dogs) spent 8 days at Jet Pet Resort I couldn’t be any happier. Well I could as I could still be in Mexico but that’s a whole other ball of wax. I digress.
I will admit that I was having mini panic attacks the night we dropped them off as I have never left Puck & Oberon anywhere that I didn’t know 100%. Since our flight was at 6am we had to drop them off at 930pm the evening before which was nice since we got to spend time with the pooches before we left. I Facebook stalked (assertive courting really) Jet Pets page waiting for photos of my dogs to make sure they were OK. It was hard because I had to take in the time difference consideration. I would be courting their page at noon where I was but it was still only 10am.
The first set of photos put me at ease and the pet specialist even made a sign for Puck & Ob telling me to enjoy my vacation as they were enjoying theirs. Every day they posted photos of all the dogs & cats in their care and every day I courted their FB page.
What made it even sweeter was when we picked them up a week later the pet specialists were sad to see them go and even told them they loved them. Will I be taking my doggies back… oh heck yes!!! Would I recommend JPR… most definitely.

Google helped me find Jet Pet. I was nervous but seeing pictures of the facilities on their website set me at ease somewhat. Dropping Abby off was a necessity but now is a treat and the daily updates are a help.
I started dropping her off when she was 10 months old. After 2 years no accidents or troubles. When Abby was young she was a bit on an escape artist it was nice getting email updates with photos.

A cat lounge?!? My cat lounges around all day every day and I don’t think he needs more pampering but since I was going to be away for a few days I went with a grand suite for $ 30/​night. I guess it was only an extra $ 5 for the upgrade so the fat little guy got all the comfort he can handle. The cost and quality isn’t what I love about this place since I would get one of my friends to take care of Smeegle but he craps all over the place when he’s mad so I chose to leave him with the pros. Plus it’s right on the way to the airport and I didn’t have to drive out to the burbs somewhere. The final result? Smeegle was giddy when I picked him up and not a single crap on any pillow either there or back at home!
Pros:
— Location for travellers.
— Costs less than parking my car.
— My cat loves it.
Cons:
— Makes me feel guilty that he likes it there so much.

This resort is better than the one I stayed at… for real. I wasn’t sure if Bud was going to be happy to see me back or not but he was. With the room I booked for him no expense was spared. It had a bed, a TV and a view of the court yard. My room had a bed, a worse TV, and a view of the parking lot. The convenience of the location was what really sold me but the facility has and indoor play area, an outdoor area and lots of buddies which was the icing.

I recently left my two chihuahua’s at Jet Pet Resort and was extremely happy with their services. The location was so pleasant to go to and was clean and the staff were very friendly. They stayed in touch with me via email while I was away and the dogs seemed to have lots of fun playing with the other dogs.
I would definitely recommend them and would have my dogs stay there again. It allowed me to enjoy my vacation without worry.

It’s been a long summer and I don’t think I would have made it if I couldn’t book Griffon into JetPet. Usually friends can take your dog, but sometimes people get tired of babysitting, and since Griffon is a 100 pound Ridgeback (his nickname is Horsey) LOL, its a lot of devouring raw chicken etc on his raw diet. He’s a very well behaved dog but is a lot of work… I was first drawn to JPet because they have a first time special and they are right on the way to the airport. I was able to register online, super convenient feature. One thing I noticed right away is — NO stinky pet smell! Haha, sometimes you expect that doggy smell like a pound, but there was none, very clean. Each dog gets their own room, my dog is big so he needed the executive vs the smaller classics. They have an indoor and outdoor play area, Griffon was outside a lot (summer) and they have a sprinkler hose thing to keep the dogs cool. They asked me exactly what to feed him and how much, which is great, must be a lot of work preparing each dogs meal but they do it. I drop him off with his frozen raw packages. Rabbit is his fav. The staff were nice, funny, I am sure they change over time. You have to keep your shots up to date, ugh, they need a bunch of shots so make sure you look at the list and get their shots done. I do mine because Griffon plays in the dog parks (the river etc) and sometimes other dogs like to bite, better safe then sorry. Hmm what else, they also accept Kitties, I don’t have one anymore but I have owned about 12 total. Abyssinian is my chosen breed. We used to take them to Cats Only but it looks nicer here. You can get other stuff like grooming etc but I didn’t need it, hes a short hair. I did get them to walk him every day, he needs that. Hes huge but he doesn’t yank you around and obey’s orders very well. They get you to put a list of commands they can use on your entry form — sit, stay, NO LOL. Bad Griffon! Now that he is used to Jetpet he seems to like it better then home :(I guess he likes the constant entertainment and attention vs sitting on his daybed till its walk time. Overall a very good service, clean, safe, fun, they feed him exactly what I want, give him his own room, variety of spaces. For short afternoon fun I take em to Doggy UFC (see my other reviews) for overnights its Jetpet.

In search for a new dog boarding, as the one I used previously had left my dog with a week long of bloody diarrhea and an expensive vet bill.
It did not take long for their $ 17/​night boarding «promo for 1^st time customer» to catch my attention. Immediately I called the staff for details and asked if there is any catch.
Apparently they said the have plenty of rooms left in Mid Sept for 7 nights, but first they need me to pay the entire boarding payment in FULL at the booking «in order to secure the booking»?! AND due to the use of the promo, there will be absolutely no refund should I cancel the booking. (huh, what a savy biz?!)
Also they have to «Qualify» my dog to see if she is fit for the promo. The staff named Pam, who I think is the biz owner, stated that they cannot qualify my dog; as my dog has never been under their care, they have no way to make sure she is cool and does not have a panic attack or aggressive behavior against other dogs. If during any day of boarding, my dog displays aggressive behavior, the promo will then be voided from then on and we will have to pay the full $ 45/​day boarding fee for the remaining days at pick up. To avoid any sticker shock, Pam suggested to bring our dog in for a 8hrs daycare prior to booking, which is «as little as only $ 30».
Wait a minute, any 1^st time customer, of course, will never been under their care isn’t it !!! But consider $ 30 is not a lot, so I gave it a try anyway. So, when I dropped my dog at 12 noon for daycare, they confirmed there are still plenty of space left in Mid Sept for 7 nights. Great, just the reassurance I need — BUT JUST WAIT until 5 hrs later they told me that my dog is qualified but they are sorry that there is NO MORE ROOM because all have been booked up in as little as the PAST 5 HOURS since their phone has been ringing nonstop! Just what an excuse! They just sounded so casual as if it is nothing unusual!
So to investigate, I had my brother called the very next day as a prospective customer trying to book the same days with the boarding promo. Guess what? they now magically have rooms available! Alright then! They asked for the pet’s name, my brother gave them my pet name of course! And guess what, they had the gut to call my brother 30mins later that they «must have looked up the wrong month», sorry actually there is no room available. What a business!

O, did I also mentioned my dog came home ever so thirsty after the daycare? It was as if she has not been drinking for days!!! I am not surprised at all if they leave all dogs out to survive in the yard by themselves with no/​little water in the afternoon so they will have little or no pee when they return to their cages (rooms) at night. This might just a tip of the iceberg of what another reviewer mentioned «they don’t have staff monitor the pets between 11PM and about 6AM.». May be it is luck that my little girl was not staying at this place. T
Facts & Conclusions:
— I have been to dozen of pet boarding in Richmond but this this is the only place that requires a 100% full payment at the time of booking before they actually deliver the service.
— Even though my loss is relatively minor, but this is about a problem in principle, integrity and honesty as a business. They might be able to draw chuck of $ out of some loaded clients who prefer to leave their beloved dogs to dry, but they can only dig the $ 30 buck out of my white collared pocket on their 1^st attempt. There will be absolutely no next time. So there is my experience, so you can make your own judgment call.

They had some good deals and were a convenient choice so I was enticed to try them when an emergency business trip came up. I called, and a file was started for my dog. When I told her that he was taking a precautionary med I was told she would need to check to see if the promo of $ 17/​night versus $ 49 would still apply to me.
I got a message back with no details about the rate or booking just before their lines closed at 5PM, assuming I just had to give my cc details as she’d mentioned to reserve the spot. After that (the next day) I couldn’t seem to get through and my messages weren’t returned promptly so I was getting anxious. It was about 20hours later when I did reach them.
This time they couldn’t find my file and the original person I spoke to was not there to confirm anything, but they took the info again, told me about the copious paperwork I was to complete & billed my credit card. A few hours later I got another call saying my file was found and that they wouldn’t take my dog because I had told them he gasps sometimes and needs water on hand to hydrate. Their reason being they don’t have staff monitor the pets between 11PM and about 6AM.
So after all the paperwork hassle & having to track them down I was left in the lurch less than 12 hours before my flight. Not a happy camper.
