I came here with significant other and brother in tow as someone still needed grub after a certain event. I had the luxury of having dinner at the main restaurant next door just a few days ago, and we needed something light and clean, so why not, as I thought it was actually the same kitchen that was connecting the two restaurants. We came here on a Thursday night, and it was fairly busy at about 8 pm. We were seated near the back where the kitchen was, and all you could smell in here was good aromas of Chinese food, which now was the hard part on what to order? The menu is quite vast, if you are here wanting the normal, as per the name of ‘wonton noodle’ you would expect the normal fare of noodle soups, dumplings, fried rice and roast meats on white rice, and congee’s but if you are wanting more, you are definitely in luck, while not as luxurious as next door, this menu has some things that next door has. Some specialty dishes that we saw on this night were chicken hot pot dishes, fresh shellfish being ‘wok’d’ up to the table and observing the menu they do set meals, some that have the $$$ stuff, like abalone and… did I see the fin… I’ll get back to you on that. So since I did eat the parent restaurant a few nights ago… and snapped up pictures, there was a dish I wanted, which unfortunately they did not. but the waitress tried her best with my picture on my phone and even showed it to the chef in the back of the kitchen, we did in turn have an order of their dumplings and a vermicelli dish with duck. There was another order that was placed, but in the end… and yes, it was a chicken hot pot dish. was not put in, and good thing, as we were stuffed by the time the meal was done. The dumplings were good, a place that doesn’t over-shrimp things, as my brother is not the biggest fan of these bottom feeders, each was plump and meaty, with no breakage of skin, presented in a nice big bowl, each had a good bite, and had a nice balance of mushroom and wood ears, no dipping sauce needed, unless you like vinegar! Our bowl of vermicelli in house broth came and a plate of seasoned duck, the meat on the duck was nice and firm, presented a good chew each time, in other words you had to work to devour your meal. The vermicelli was perfectly cooked… al dente style. where each bite of the noodles had a bite and didn’t just fall apart while putting your tongue onto these noodles, the broth was nice and clean as well. The place was pretty busy, and even though there seemed to be only 2 servers working, these woman were running the rounds and working hard. If you are looking for a good place where you want some simple Canto-flare, a quick meal, just remember to bring cash(CASH-ONLY) this place will do the trick, would come back. They have an extensive menu, so if you want to go and eat the expensive dishes but are in your crappy clothes and don’t want to go upscale… well you can hide out here and still enjoy to your hearts content!

They have«happy hour» from 9pm to 2am. Pretty much some good snacks for a couple dollars off! We had the salt and pepper chicken wings, scallop congee, pea leaves, and clams with black bean sauce. I also saw that there was some preset meals that people could order, but I was happy with what we got — the veggies were crisp, not overcooked and not drenched in oil which I appreciated. The flavor was clean and brothy. The clams were savory and tasty — not too much salt and a good portion size. Chicken wings were a little on the salty side, but it was a good contrast to everything else we ordered! The congee was good comfort food — perfect consistency of water to rice, texture and really well done. Everything was authentic, seating is ample, though service is a little hit or miss. but would definitely recommend a late night bite here!

This is one of the Neptune restaurants in Richmond for those who want a quick bowl of noodle soups and all the other tasty morsels of food being offered. I ordered their conventional Wonton Noodle Soup. It was decent, the size was somewhat decent. It was really salty for my tongue(could be the right amount of salt for that person), but overall, it is a convenient place for those who want to have quick lunch or dinner before doing other things throughout the day.

After a long day of driving in the States we headed back into town. It was about 11 pm so and we didn’t have dinner yet so we ended up at a late night Chinese place Neptune Wonton Noodle. Surprisingly, it was 60% full at 11 pm. There was only 2 of us eating, and I was bitching that I felt queasy most of the day. I was told that this place is famous for their hot pot drunken chicken. Other people ordered it and it smelled really good. We ended up ordering just congee, and wontons(regular and fish noodle soup) Nothing like a good hot bowl of congee to help you feel better. The congee was good. Made twice as good when we also ordered fresh Chinese donut to go with it. Yes I know the donut is deep fried and oily but it’s a good oily! It tastes good cuz it’s oily! Hahaha Ok so for a late night meal Neptune is pretty good. I would certainly come back here if I find myself hungry late night and I’m in Richmond!

Ate a noodle and a veggie dish. Was decent but nothing exceptional. The price of noodle was alright while the price of a veggie dish is a little too much costing $ 11.75.

Service is great but food is so so. Nothing really surprise me at all. I even think it is kind of pricy.

This is one of my favorite late-night place when I’m in the Richmond area. I particularly like their late night menu as other places don’t have what I like. It is usually busy and packed, and can take 5 – 15 mins to get a table. You can’t possibly expect great service at a busy late-night Chinese restaurant; you are lucky enough to flag someone down to take your orders and but is usually prompt with your orders. Food quality is always great and price range is fair. I had a funny experience last weekend, when the waitress was full on swearing in Chinese, complaining about how our next table had made a mess after they left. We quietly laughed and made sure our table was neat and tidy and paid a big tip when we left. Parking available in the plaza.

1. Food prices are higher than other Chinese restaurants in the area. 2. Lacking hygiene. Plates were dirty and not sure if they have been washed. 3. Food was not cooked properly. Eating semi-cooked pork is not ok. I complained and they served me the same dish. I was in the washroom for 3 days. Hopefully tmrw will be better. 4. I am never going back again.

I dined in this restaurant several years ago. I remembered the congee and wonton noodle in this restaurant were so good. I have to admit, after trying the congee and wonton noodle, they did not live up to my expectations. I was kind of disappointed. The price was a lot more expensive, but the quality was not. The Kenny noodle house in Portland is more better, which is not what I would expect. I will cherish Kenny noodle house more!

I would give this a 1 ½ star. First of all it’s great because it’s open late but make sure you know what you want to order. The menu was confusing at best. I don’t read chinese so i guess lost in translation is a good term here. Lesson to be learned for us is ask first. This is a CASHONLY restaurant so watch out for that. The service was slow but not too bad. There was another review saying that the place was clean. I beg to differ. The restroom was horrible. There were«stains» on the walls that I can only guess what they might be. If the restroom was that bad, then I would hate to see what’s in the kitchen and elsewhere.

Late night place to eat… we were eating around 9 – 10 pm and the place was still hopping. Everything we ordered was tasty and average sized portions. Price is fair. Service is not steller but pass. Can’t wait to go back again!

We went to the Neptune Wonton Noodle for lunch and found not much change after so many years. This restaurant is positioned as a cheaper version of the Neptune Seafood Restaurant and is located just side-by-side to it. It is one of Richmond’s local favourites for traditional Cantonese Hong Kong style wonton and congee restaurant. They have a lot of selections such as noodles, congees, dim sims, lunch combo and other dishes. Personally, I didn’t like it! Slippery floor, dirty table and chair(which we got seated), poor food and boring commercial video on TV. Hand make squid ball soup — squid balls were ok, not too bouncy but tasty. Duck congee — pretty good congee and just a bit salty. Stir fried beef with flat rice noodles — Super greasy and hardly could found slice beef. Deep fried chinese calamari — tiny squid with thick flour and too much seasoning. Salty fish and chicken fried rice — Average fried rice and a bit oily.

Came here after looking for Seafood Restaurants that serves Alaska King Crab but decided to change our minds. There was plenty of people waiting outside, so our family figured to go here for dinner since we weren’t familiar with the places around Richmond, BC.(We are from America). We went inside to get a number for party of 7. We had to wait for about 30 – 40 mins! which is not cool because they were lacking workers. Really only 3 – 4 people handling food to serve? like WHAT? That was a really big turnoff. Lets get to the food! –Their Congee is A++. Hands down! The best Congee I ever had in my whole life! Everyone in the restaurant at least order 2 different kinds of Congee. (Totally recommend: Dried Scallop) –Drunken Chicken was one of their main dish. Its really delicious !~ –FOOD = 100% HONGKONGSTYLE Overall our dinner night for our second stay in Richmond, B. C was great because we don’t really get good quality food down here in Bay Area. note: * they are owned by Neptune Seafood Restaurant* Would totally go back for dinner here whenever I get the chance to come vacating in Canada again!

The first impression I got when we went here was that they have a really confusing menu. Despite being a wonton noodle restaurant supposedly, there was a surprisingly limited selection of wonton noodle soup on the menu. To get what I wanted(char siu wonton mein) I had to special order it, and they added an extra $ 2 for the extra meat. Apparently they have char siu mein and wonton mein but not combined… The soup was alright. The wontons were nice, stuffed with tasty shrimp; unfortunately they only give you three of them. Moreover I thought it was definitely lacking in terms of the noodles itself; they were kind of sad looking. I was also disappointed by the lack of vegetables /greens that usually come with it. For $ 6 for the basic wonton+noodles, I would have expected a larger bowl with at least some vegetables. I would have also liked to have seen variations with other barbecued meats(e.g. duck) Overall it was nothing horrible, but nothing too special, either.

After eating dinner here last week, I came away with the overall impression that they need to do something MORE in one area or other. There are so many worthy choices around Richmond and because I don’t live there, I don’t get many opportunities to dine in the area and so it’s one strike and you’re out. The food was not particularly good, prices were not particularly low and service was Jekyll and Hyde. There was one friendly and courteous male server and then two surly female servers(one reviewer described it as feeling like you’re wasting their time). Believe me, I’ll tolerate poor service for tasty, cheap food. Honestly, there’s a real lack of charm here. For people who live close by or find themselves in the area, this is probably a perfectly serviceable choice for late night noodles and congee. Other reviewers have praised some of their signature dishes. I doubt that I will be returning any time soon. The food isn’t terrible but not special – «meh. I’ve experienced better» is an apt descriptor what I experienced. We were a group of three and ordered steamed choy sum, fried rice with dried scallop and egg whites and the hand-pulled noodles with assorted meat shreds.

Definitely one of the better tasting congee I have tasted in Richmond. Still not perfect, but its tasty and goes down smooth in the tummy! Would definitely come back here again just for the congee. Max Noodle and Michigan noodle house have better congee though. We also tried the shrimp and scallop with eggs over rice noodles. This was a great dish. Rice noodles(chow funn) delicately absorbing the wok hay without getting burned. Scallops and shrimp were entwined in a velvety soft scrambled egg sauce that was really tasty and pleasing to the mouth. The rock cod with tofu was likewise tasty and really goes great with rice. we asked the waitress to put it in hot pot and was really great. I think their version was better than Mui garden’s. Another thumbs up for this restaurant.

Neptune Won Ton Noodles A few years ago, Neptune Won Ton was one of my familiy’s favorite restaurants. It would often be our first stop in Richmond and we loved the food. Their specialties at the time were most often their chilled spicy shrimp and their solid soup noodles. At our visit this time, Neptune seemed a bit less busy than prior visits over the years. The menu appeared unchanged and we decided to order the chilled spicy shrimp as well as a rice dish. For some reason, the rice dish with bean curd and vegetables took a very long time. Another patron who had ordered a to-go order experienced a similar wait and was about to just cancel her order given the wait. I’m not quite sure what caused the delay. The chilled spicy shrimp came out fast though and I was excited with anticipation. I remembered the great flavor and spice and the extremely fresh shrimp. But with my first bite, I could tell the dish wasn’t quite the same. The shrimp, rather than being quickly flash cooked and then chilled, was cooked more thoroughly. The chili oil was a bit one sided as too. Overall, it just wasn’t as good as I remembered. When the bean curd and vegetables finally came, it was actuallly very good. I didn’t order the soup noodles this time, so I can’t comment. Neptune had it’s run but in the interim a lot of Chinese noodle soup restaurants have opened and Neptune has fallen quite a bit from 5 years ago. In a pinch, I’d go again but I’d probably opt for Michigan or Tsim Chai first.

I first heard about this place maybe a couple of months ago, and have probably been back at least 5 times since. Neptune Wonton Noodle(not to be confused with Neptune Seafood Restaurant directly next door) reminds me of the era in the 1980s before the Asian Invasion of the Lower Mainland, a time when the selection of Chinese restaurants was actually quite limited outside of Chinatown, and consisted mostly of mom + pop«hole in the wall» type places. So let’s start with the initial impression. Even before you step inside, there are a couple of things that come to mind. There is ample parking thanks to this restaurant being part of a strip mall(unlike the restaurants along the north side of nearby Alexandra Road), and the interior is actually surprisingly clean for a Chinese restaurant. Now I haven’t had all of the dishes, but of the ones that I have had, they definitely do them right. My personal favourite are the Wonton Rice Noodle(wun tun hoh) and the Dumpling Noodle(sui gao hoh). Not only are the wonton and dumplings larger than most other places in recent memory,(they serve 5 with the dish) the taste is fresh. The noodles are never soggy or mushy(ie overcooked), just the way I like them. The Empress chicken(I ordered this one on a whim) is also done very well. It is not too salty(common mistake), and also not oily! Served with the usual oil + ginger, you can’t go wrong. But the wild card for this place? I must say it’s the«cold spicy shrimp». The friend who brought me here told me I simply had to have it, and he was absolutely correct. If spicy food is your thing, you MUST try this. The dish is. cold prawns(with the heads still attached), covered with some seriously awesome spicy chili oil/sauce. For $ 11 for a large plate, you really can’t go wrong, whether you’re going with 1 friend or 5. This dish is not on the menu itself, but is written against the back wall. Just a tip. No matter when you go(including weeknights at 10pm), this place is always at least 2⁄3 full, and let’s just say there’s a reason. Now go eat some cold spicy shrimp~
