Phil’s Hobby Hut

I really enjoy stopping by this place and seeing good ol’ Phil. A wonderful white bearded Jamaican fellow who has a true love for flying of all sorts. He is a private pilot with vast experience himself. he has a array of model rockets, rc planes, helicopters, static model kits, rc tanks and rc boats. He also sells used hobby aircraft. His shop sells older airplane kits which may not be understandably attractive to some… but I appreciate that he has a grand wealth of knowledge of probably over 50 years of hobby flying. I personally woudnt’ recommend his plane kits. They are too old and too pricey compared to things online or at MagicBox Hobbies or Norburn. Good place to find knick-​knack parts for your hobby aircraft. I had a problem with a Flyzone Ventura glider I had purchased from him and he was kind enough to come on his own time after closing and get my aircraft in the air and offer me his experienced guidance and tips. He owns the buidlng so if he is not in the shop it is good to see if he is next door tenants… the De Dutch Pannekoek House. Good chance he’s there having coffee. Definitely worth the visit to meet such wonderful gentleman. He’ll grow on you the more you get to know him.

I was surprised that this place still exist. I bought my first radio control airplane here a long time ago when I was a teenager. Back then this hobby was so expensive that after I crashed it I couldn’t afford another plane until much later.
Phil has been here for over 30 years and has mostly planes, some boats and many building supplies.
The prices are higher than what I am use to paying so I will only buy building materials if I am in the area.
