Phoenix Perennials is a dynamic, award-winning, cutting edge retail and mail order nursery and garden centre in Richmond, BC, part of Metro Vancouver. We grow the majority of our own plants including perennials, shrubs, trees, vines, groundcovers, succulents, edibles and more which we source from around the world. In all we offer more than 4000 different garden plants each year, one of the largest and most exciting selections in Canada. We also offer mail order across Canada.
We host regular workshops and special events such as the Hellebore Hurrah!, the Great Easter Plant Hunt, and the Heirloom Tomato Festival. We are active on diverse social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube. Our popular e-newsletter comes out twice a month and our Alerts with 14 different subjects for you to choose from come out when we have something exciting to tell you.
We offer an in-nursery design service and always have friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand to help you with your gardening questions.
History
Established in 2004.
Phoenix Perennials and Specialty Plants Ltd has been in business since 2004. It has quickly grown to become one of Vancouver and BC’s favourite destination nurseries for plants you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else. In 2013 we launched Canadian mail order to bring an amazing selection of plants within reach of gardeners across the country.

Gary L.
Business Owner
Gary is the Canada Region Director for the Perennial Plant Association, the North America-wide industry association that brings gardeners the Perennial Plant of the Year. He is on the Advisory Committee for E-Flora BC, an online atlas of BC native plants. He also serves on the Perennial and Bulb Selection Committee of Great Plant Picks, a program of the Miller Botanical Garden in Seattle.
In 2014 Gary was selected as one of Canada’s «Top 10 Horticultural Professionals Under 40» by Greenhouse Canada magazine. Phoenix Perennials was selected for the 2015 «Revolutionary 100» honouring the 100 best cutting edge garden centres in North America. In 2013 Gary was selected as Communicator of the Year by the BC Landscape and Nursery Association, an award for which he was nominated in 2012. In both 2012 and 2013 Phoenix Perennials won the category of «Growing Gardeners», part of the Canadian Garden Centre of the Year Awards.
