Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport

4.5 stars! We stayed here on our last night before we flew out of Vancouver airport (YVR). This is a great location if you need to be close to the airport either on your first night or last night in Vancouver.
LOCATION: This hotel is located in Richmond, about a 5−8min drive from YVR. It is located about a 20 – 30 min drive to Stanley Park, and a 45 min drive to Capilano/​Grouse. It is directly across (walking distance) from Aberdeen Center, which is a 99.5% Asian shopping center, and surrounded by a plethora of Asian food restaurants. I am Asian, but I wasn’t Asian enough to fit in with the crowd at Aberdeen. Anyway, back to the hotel. It was everything you would expect from an airport hotel location.
PRO:
1. Free shuttle to/​from the airport (we used this twice-​we returned the rental car at night, and then again in the morning when we went to the airport)
2. Free wifi
3. Free bottled water in room
4. We stayed in a 1bdrm suite, for $ 210 through Expedia, so we had a refrigerator, bar area, and a living room.
5. Kiosk downstairs prints out real card stock boarding passes, no charge.
6. Sleep Number Beds. Google it if you’ve never heard of it. It was my first time and I loved it.
CON:
1. Can’t really think of anything. While close to the airport, it is not close to the tourist attractions in Vancouver. But just like you wouldn’t stay at a hotel near LAX to go to Disneyland, same thing here. This is a hotel near the YVR airport.

The hotel service was nice, rooms were clean, and dinners were a descent price.
The parking was less than ideal if it was busy at all. And there was basically nothing for us to walk to. It was purely a single «ethnic town» surrounding us, which wasn’t what were were going for in our first trip to Canada.
If you are staying for 1 night and want to be close to the airport, great choice!
If you are staying 4 days as a vacation (like we did). I wouldn’t choose this location. Everything we wanted to do took about an hour to drive up north, the street «Granville» was so crowded all the time, and seemed to be where our GPS always wanted us to go. Pay a little more for something up north! If you won’t have a car stay in the city, if you will have a car maybe a little more on the outskirts in the northern side.
Side Note: Sea wall, hiking bridges, Jethro’s fine grub, Earnest ice-​cream were our favorite things!

Very nice and comfy hotel. The staff was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful! Glad we stayed here.

We had a great stay here for one night, before catching a flight out of YVR. We had more than the usual amount of requests as we have two small kids. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. The shuttle was prompt and helpful. The room was clean and had tons of pillows and extra blankets. There are plenty of places to eat and stores/​markets around. No complaints, very good value!

This is so far the best hotel I’ve stayed in Richmond. First, the location is awesome if you’re in Richmond for shopping and eating. It’s located next to Yaohan, Aberdeen Center, President Plaza, Parker Place, and etc. I got free parking with my reservation, so I didn’t even need to drive much to get where I wanted to go. As many of you know, parking is limited in Richmond. Second, the service was great. The front desk was courteous and even upgraded us to a suite. The room itself is not bad. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience.

In Richmond I’ve stayed in only 3 hotels so far. The Best Western which I haven’t been back to in over 10 years, the Westin Wall and the Radisson. I will be going to the Sandman Signature next week though.
I have to say that this hotel has it’s pluses. While the Westin is an ok location it’s not as close to the nearby malls and you have to pay for parking which is a huge downer. When I booked the Radisson through Expedia I was able to get the parking for free. That is a big plus considering this is a pretty busy area. I was told that if the parking at the front is full there is parking in the adjacent parkade but it was on the 5^th level and only in the blue zone. I was hoping that every time I went out that when I came back there would be parking up front. Each time there was but each time I either parked in the last spot or there were only 1 to 3 spots left out of maybe 30 spots.
The front desk is very friendly and professional which is what I essentially expect where ever you go. Anything less and it’s a horrible first impression not here though. Good staff here.
The room we were given was 640. This room was a form factor for disabled individuals. It is noticeable from the space you have inside the room as well as the switches on the walls, the thermostat and the essentially the size of the room. It seems larger. The bathroom is basically double the size or larger.
The layout of the room is sort of unusual. I’m used to basically your standard rectangular shaped room. This room has many angles from the window to the closet to where the TV is. There was a safe in the closet but I didn’t have a mini fridge. I’m a fan of the mini fridge because I like buying my own bottled water and keeping it chilled as opposed to getting ice etc.
We only stayed for one night so it was more of a transient stay. I liked the fact the hotel is about a 6 minute drive to the main terminal at YVR. It’s not as close as the hotel in the airport grounds or the Westin Wall but I didn’t have to pay for parking and the internet was also free which are my 2 big freebies I look for as a priority.
I’d probably stay here again as my go to YVR area hotel that is unless the Sandman Signature that I will be in next week is better.
Anyway overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable although I didn’t use or adjust the sleep number control at all.

Very nice location in Richmond, BC. Walking distance to train and malls. If you love asian food this location is in front of Aberdeen mall that offers choices of fast food and sit in Asian food. Very close to asian market or stores.
Got a great rate in mid August and we received a free upgrade to their executive suite. Otherwise, it’s one of the more expensive hotel in the area.
They have a nice pool and jacuzzi in the mezzanine. The gym is also nice and spacious.
The executive suite is spacious and the king bed is bigger than ordinary. Room has two TV, free wifi, with small extra room other than the bedroom, with small refrigerator and counter top, and electronic safe. Nicely appointed furniture and room is clean with no odd smell. Only gripe is the carpet which has so much stain in the first room with sofa.
Staffs are very nice and helpful.
Highly recommended and great value if you can get a rate in the low hundred per night.

Um. No. We CAN’T choose the bed, as our rooms were reserved by a third-​party.

Stayed 2 nights on ⁴⁄₁₅. Staff are friendly and room is nice. I loved the location, free wifi and my kids love their indoor swimming pool. My room right next to the lightrail and I have no problem with the noise. I’ll stay at this hotel again.

If aspects like connivence are important to you, this probably isn’t the hotel for you. Nothing is easy at this place from parking, to drinking, to finding food. Pass.

I’m rating this hotel in terms of the buffet and not the hotel itself. Me and my family came here for new years dinner today expecting decent food for the price they offer. We were all dissatisfied for what was offered. River rock casino had more and better food for a lower price then at this hotel buffet. My rating is not in terms of hotel stay experience but because of the buffet especially on new years and my grandmother’s 76^th birthday.

We stayed at the Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport while visiting family who live in Surrey. Overall, I enjoyed our stay. The staff at the front desk were insanely helpful and kind. Due to traffic, we were running late to a family function and the woman who assisted us during check-​in not only listened well, but gave me turn-​by-​turn directions to my destination.
The room itself was okay. The Radisson uses sleep number beds, however ours didn’t seem to be working properly. There were also some stains on the carpet and soap scum in the bathtub. The room was overall clean, however, and we found it to be quiet, peaceful, and were able to sleep undisturbed.
After a long journey, and a lot of time with family, that was really all we needed.
The area surrounding is very interesting! There is a Korean market next door where we browsed new and exciting food! Additionally, we were pleased to find both a Skyline stop and a Tim Horton’s around the corner.
It’s also convenient to the airport and Highway 99, so it’s easy to get everywhere and anywhere around Vancouver.

A bit pricey but very convienent to go to all the places around the richmond asian mall areas. Easily walkable distance to Night market, Alberdeen, Parker Place and Kam Do bakery. Service is very friendly and professional. Rooms are very clean and have sleep number beds.
Worth the extra bit you have to pay than the other hotels around for the accessibility and comfort.
If you book several months in advance it’s a little cheaper than booking several weeks before.

Love the location, it’s central to everything, I’d stay here if i was a tourist. safe too, & walkable to the skytrain station. Right next to Aberdeen Mall & Yaohan centre, not really a place for shopping designer labels, but other mom n pops.
The breakfast is typical hotel expensive & quality, but it’s made fresh. Today’s Easter Brunch sure seems like a big menu for $ 32 adults, $ 16 kids.
Been here for a few weddings & meetings before, think they still comp the wedding couple a free hotel night. Great upstairs where the banquet rooms are, nice balcony.
Expansive lobby, free parking for hotel guests, along with WIFI, pool, gym & hot tub.
Lots of comffy seating area, plus a lounge for the bar too.

I was not expecting much as I have stayed in a few Radissons in the US and have never really been impressed. I was quite surprised.
Very glad we called and found out they had a free shuttle from the airport because by the time we got through customs, the last thing I wanted to do was navigate my way to a hotel in a city I had never been to. The shuttle was prompt and it was a quick ride to the hotel. The desk attendant greeted us warmly and directed us to our room. I disagree with Sandy L. slightly. While the common areas of the hotel did seem a little dated, our room definitely wasn’t. We had a nice sitting area and a great view of the city. Our bed was quite comfortable; especially after I figured out how to work the control to change the firmness.
While I wouldn’t call the hotel centrally located, the vicinity to the airport is convenient. It’s across the street from the Aberdeen Centre and also a Skytrain stop so getting to downtown Vancouver was a breeze. I would definitely consider this hotel the next time we’re in Vancouver.

The rooms were way better than the previous hotel we stayed at, which was the Hilton in Oregon, which is probably why I’m rating it a bit higher than it deserves. The rooms were nice and clean, and pretty. Had a fridge and tv and located in a nice clean shopping area. The lobby looked nice too. THE BED THOUGH, was lumpy and itchy and it sunk in the middle. I’m usually not picky, but when I would roll over to the other side of the bed, I would be stuck in the middle. Like a turtle on it’s back. My entire body hurt so bad the next two days, I should’ve just slept on the floor.
HOWEVER, the hotel lobby people or whatever you call them that help you when you check in, IS AWFUL. We paid for TWO rooms. I even printed the receipt, the email and the confirmation number and brought it with me. EVERYTHING clearly stated that we got only TWO rooms, THREE people for each room (about 300 $+ each =_​=) and the guy (his name was ROMAN. Remember this. Go to the other person if you must.) kept INSISTING that we got FOUR whole rooms!!! Thats 8 beds! What the hay! I am NOT paying for FOUR rooms when we only have 6 people, all family too. That wouldve been like 1000+ bucks. We argued for a while and he just gave me a smile (that I wanted to slap off his face) and said «okay I’ll cancel the other two rooms but next time we’re going to charge you a fee»
NEXT TIME?! ARE YOU SAYING THAT NEXT TIME YOU’RE GOING TO DO THE SAME ISH TO ME AGAIN?!
Um no, next time im going to sue your butt for trying to get us to pay for four rooms you douch3.

The hotel is old and dated which needs some serious remodeling. The room is almost just a bed to sleep on.
However, it is located in an excellent location on No. 3 Road and closed to 2 big malls. So we didn’t need to deal with crazy parking and walked around everywhere to shop freely.
Besides, the free parking and free wifi made the stay alot easier than Westin Wall Center. I believe we saved over $ 50 for these ‘extra service’.
Not sure i will recommend this place, it totally depends on what is matter to you.

Nice surprise after a flight cancellation. Air Canada put me up at the Radisson near the Vancouver airport and I was not expecting much.
Really friendly staff with good late night checkin and local food suggestions. Rooms were actually hip, kinda Vegas modern, even had a sleep number bed. Breakfast buffet was well stocked and wait-​staff was attentive.
Looked like the skytrain stop was close though I didn’t use it. Hotel shuttle ran every hour and took me out late to grab a bit to eat.
Nothing bad to say about the hotel, great stay.

I was in Vancouver and spent 2 nights at this hotel. I was super impressed. The location is pretty good — thanks to the canada line, it’s super easy to get downtown.
There’s a variety of places to eat nearby, and a couple of grocery stores, in case you need a snack.
The rooms are lovely, the service is great. The only caveat is those darned sleep number beds (not my fave), but a lovely stay overall.
PS — this place is really good value for the Vancouver area

It has been a few years. Took our mom to Vancouver to celebrate her birthday and we stayed here because of its convenient location. How convenient? You can walk to all the major malls in 5 – 10 minutes, you really can’t beat that especially when 1) you don’t want to drive and 2) you only came here to eat. For what it’s worth, my mom was happy with the selection so we did well.
We got a suite with a sofabed in the living room. It also comes with a round table and 4 chairs and a mini fridge — it works out perfectly.
The night of my mom’s b-​day, we even went downstairs to the lounge to listen to some music and had a couple of drinks. It was so nice to see my mom get into it — the Chinese duo was playing mostly mellow and older songs that my mom recognized. Mom even had one drink, which she hasn’t for a long long time due to her diabetes. Our cocktails were pure sugar water but seeing mom so happy — priceless!
