This is part of the food court in Aberdeen. I like this place. But I only had their sandwiches. I didn’t try their pizza but it looked interesting. I had their soft-shell crab sandwich. It was really good. Their bread was really soft and I wanted something a little different from this food court. This was definitely different. They had unagi sandwich and shrimp tempura sandwich too. Try their sandwiches.

I guess I shouldn’t have really had any expectations for this place, but I guess I did a little. Was in the Aberdeen Centre trying some food places and looking around. Came across Japanese pizza and got a little excited. I was already full, but I had to try the pizza, so settled for one slice. Maybe I chose the wrong type of pizza, but the chicken pizza was not that great, and the crust was soft. If I came back here, maybe I’d order a freshly made pie or just the standard pepperoni. The appeal of this place is, Japanese, and the different concoctions they come up with.

We went and tried this place out three times. At first we asked ourselves… Is this Japanese??? Nobody has ever heard of it. Then we realized it’s a franchise in Japan, but a small on and found in the smaller towns, but not in Tokyo. If there is one there, nobody knows. The concept seemed good. Yes Japanese pizza is different, but it’s not like Pizzala. yah? nah… Mochi on pizza, great concept, but I don’t think it’s cooked right. It doesn’t look like in the pictures and it’s well, kinda bland. There are some good ones, but compared to what we already get here locally? I know there is a guy already making Japanese style pizza with a twist and it’s not this one. Sorry guys, Try again next time. Food court pizza, ok. but it’s not the best.

* Promises Japanese Pizza — delivers fairly typical food court style pizza * Been meaning to give this spot a try just to see what they consider to be Japanese pizza. I figured if they have been serving pizza since 1983 in Japan they must be doing something right, no? Pros: — Pizza was taken from the warmer and placed into an oven so that it was very hot and crispy. — Menu has some promising combinations like: 1. Premium lobster(lobster, scallop, capsicum, eggplant, zucchini and carbonara sauce) 2. Salmon & camembert(smoked salmon, camembert, capers, onions and carbonara sauce) 3. Teriyaki mochi(mochi, chicken, onion and teriyaki sauce) Cons: — None of the most interesting combos were available! The only choices they had available were Hawaiian, Potato, and Seafood. — The pizza itself had way too much cheese and was overly greasy. I tried the seafood one, as it was the most interesting variety of the 3 actually available. It had shrimp, scallops, squid, onion and standard pizza sauce. The seafood was not particularly high quality, and as previously mentioned there was just way too much cheese. The pizza sauce was also very reminiscent of canned tomato paste. Overall it sounded much more interesting than it actually was. They didn’t offer any of the truly interesting sounding varieties, and the varieties they did offer were just standard mall fare. Oh well…

Great concept with such unique ideas, but the pizza itself felt like fast food with all that cheese layered on top. I know that Strawberry cones _is_a food court restaurant so I was expecting«A-OK»(though I was hoping for something better). I recommend it if you haven’t had it just because it’s so unique.

Located in Aberdeen Centre. They were a fairly new incomer. The poster said their grand opening was on December 20. Advertising as the«best pizza & pasta. Since 1983 in Japan» I was lured in. I ask the cashier for pizza suggestions and these are the 2 I tried: teriyaki mochi chicken: the more popular of the pizzas, comes with a dollop of mochi and pieces of chicken, whoever decided mochi blends well in pizza must have been dreaming because this whole mixture didn’t pass my taste test. the mochi is warm and fluffy but totally funky eating it with a soft pizza crust salmon camembert: cashier liked this one, fat blob of cheese on top of a piece of salmon. I’m not a fan of cheese, but the mixture was decent. also a weird taste in my mouth yes i know those combinations are bizarre, but the other pizzas were just as so. The crust wasn’t crispy enough and the pizza overall was greasy on top. I didn’t feel like it was worth the price for the unfamiliar pizza concoctions. For me, I think it’ll take some time to adjust to their pizza. When it does expand to the US, maybe I’ll give it another try or if I eventually travel to Japan.
