History

Established in 1980.

Eyeland Optometry was formed when Dr. Peter Roed purchased Eyeland Optical in 2015. Dr. Peter Roed had been practising optometry in St. Albert for over sixteen years in MDO opticians. Eyeland optical had been serving St. Albert for over twenty years and it was the perfect office to purchase to become independent and finally offer his patients the selection and value that they were asking for. Dr. Peter Roed moved from Ontario after graduating from the Univeristy of Waterloo Optometry program in the 90’s. The move was as much about finding his own path and seeking new experiences as it was to find work. The Optometry program opened more then just professional doors but it sparked his ongoing love of travel and photography. With eye care missions to Mexico, exchange programs to Cuba and externships to Jamaica and Sweden, his passion for exploration of new places and cultures was born. He is strongly connected with the community and involved in a number of charities. Optometry has been a great and rewarding profession for him but he truly enjoys the relationships he creates with his patients; with his neighbours. Dr. Roed provides comprehensive eyecare to all ages and has a particular affinity for pediatric eyecare. Dr. Roed prides himself on being up to date on the latest treatment guidelines and is continuously updating the office equipment to ensure the best care possible.
