Trust me, the food is not fresh, fresh food are the most important things in a sushi restaurant. Too expensive for the take out food and waiters not friendly. Only good was the price for buffet.

My order was takeout. I had high hopes but I should have listened to myself and questioned the low prices. The waitress that I dealt with was great. Very apologetic for the mix up and I could hear her repeat to the other waiter and the cooks, that my order was takeout(3 times that I heard). So this is nothing against her. Apparently after they figured out my order they plated my food and it was sitting around for a while, before it was bagged for takeout. I got there at around 1:40pm, left with my order at 2:29pm. Far too long for the order. Ordered, the Spider Roll, Sashimi and vegetable egg rolls. The sushi, looked rough, the rice was over-cooked. Nothing looked fresh. The quality was not there. Cheap ingredients, equal terrible taste, in my opinion. The sashimi was not sashimi. It consisted of tiny pieces(baby finger nail size), 3 or 4, covered in breadcrumbs over rice rolled in seafood, in more breadcrumbs. The egg rolls did not taste freshly made, even rolled that day. They tasted like they were store bought, from the frozen food isle. The plum sauce was decent though. If you want great quality sushi, you have to pay for it. I will not come here again.

Regretfully having to downgrade my previous review by a star, because the service here seems to be backsliding a little(they’ve gotten over the new restaurant honeymoon? I don’t know) and it’s happened consistently enough that I feel it’s worth noting. That said, this is in no way reflective of the food itself, only the staff and presentation, and they’ve both been getting steadily more lackluster the more often I visit. The servers don’t stop by the table to check on things, offer drink refills, etc. The small dishes with the wasabi and ginger have been steadily dwindling to almost nothing across my last ~10 visits, which seems like a silly thing to pick on, but it’s reflective of the presentation– it’s not like the place is going to go broke on those items. On my last visit, I got a tiny dab of wasabi and a single(small) flake of ginger, and when I asked for more ginger(I eat it!), the waitress must have thought I was kidding, or was displeased having it pointed out, because she brought me about 30 pieces. I’m not sure what point she was trying to make here, since I was the only one at the table, but if there’d been a normal amount of ginger on the table, I wouldn’t have bothered to ask. Also as a follow up to my previous review, as I have now been there for dinner several times, the sashimi is very good, the salmon and butter fish in particular.

Probably the most disgusting«sushi» restaurant I have ever experienced. I honestly don’t understand how people in Sarnia can call this«good» sushi. I think it is because they’ve never had real sushi at a proper Japanese restaurant and have nothing to compare it to, since most of the restaurants in Sarnia serve low quality, cheap crap. The owner isn’t even Japanese, and B&W Sushi destroys the Japanese art of sushi. Sushi is an art form — not something to be made as cheaply as possible and put on buffet. We once had an incredible(real) sushi restaurant in Sarnia called Seyo Sushi, but Sarnians were too cheap to pay for the high quality prices, so he eventually closed down and moved back to Toronto. It’s a shame, because then some cheap, gross place like B&W comes in and starts making money off of low quality, cheap sushi-like food like this. The fish is not fresh — it tastes fishy, which should never happen. And fresh, high quality fish, like salmon is expensive — thus the customer pays more for high quality sushi ingredients. So think about the next time you order at B&W — how can it be so cheap if fresh fish costs so much? Because they buy the lowest quality, cheapest fish they can find and throw it together, and serve fish days after it should be served, giving it that fishy taste. Also, the owner here used to have a Chinese restaurant here, but his business was failing. He saw that Seyo Sushi was doing well, so he closed down the Chinese restaurant, went to a 4 week sushi-training course, and then reopened it as B&W. He isn’t even Japanese! Japanese sushi chefs train for years and are highly respected for the art and skills they learn. This place is a joke. Try getting out of Sarnia, going to a real sushi restaurant, and you’ll wonder how you could ever eat this crap without immediately throwing up. Literally the worst«sushi» restaurant I have ever been to. It doesn’t even deserve to have the name«sushi» in its title.

By far my favorite restaurant of all time. I’ve never had bad service or ordered a bad dish here. This is all you can eat Japanese cuisine, however they do have a regular menu you can order off of, as well as to-go orders. They also have a loyalty card where you buy 9 dinners, you get the 10th free, plus you receive 10% off if you pay with cash. My husband and I are such regulars, we have filled up about 4 cards in the past 18 months. To say we are regulars is an understatement. If you love Japanese/sushi this is for sure the place to go in Sarnia. The others cannot compare to the quality. Even if you are not a sushi lover, the menu has many options for every taste.

Our favorite go to place for lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating to our dietary needs(no gluten). They go above and beyond every time. The food is fantastic, and you never leave hungry!!! We just love this place!

A few people recommended we try this sushi restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised even with the recommendations. Great presentation, fantastic variety, and very tasty. I highly recommend the dragon roll and rainbow rolls.

This place took the location over from Oriental Wok, you can definitely tell it’s a new enterprise. When I entered I was quickly greeted and seated at a nearby booth next to the window, the interior looks neat and seems to fit with the Black and White theme(B & W). The waitress was a bit new to English it seemed, but was very nice about it. Some might not like this experience, but she confused the amounts of my ordered items a few times — not a big deal for me at all. She might have been nervous because of my danged blue eyes, I have this effect on Asian woman LOL. The sushi was good quality for a reasonable price. Definitely give it a try. Anyway, the manager came and spoke with me due to the small mixups the waitress had done. As a business man myself I respect this type of behavior a lot and he got me 3 $ coupon for next time. It’s located on the corner of Christina and George St., hard to miss and easily accessible. There is a lot of sitting space, so take a group out here maybe sometime.
