The halibut is fresh and high quality and you can taste the difference. I go there every month. You get what you pay for. It’s not cheap but it’s well worth it for the best fish and chips in town

Inside Sarnia, when comparing against other options, this place is decent and some locals swear to me it’s the best. Expand that range of comparison and it slowly is lost in the shadow of other establishments in the province I’ve dined at. Fish portion was small for the price paid – certainly it’s been getting ever higher in the long gaps between visits I’ve made. The fish itself, halibut this evening for us, was decent. Bread was on par with what you’d expect from a fish & chip joint. Chips themselves were average. Staff were friendly and helpful for those in the party that couldn’t make a quick decision when it came time to order.

Been to the wharf about four times the fish is very good but the chips need a lot of work. In general I was not overly impressed.

Ok, the first time last March was not a fluke… The halibut is over the top with real hand cut fries! $ 20 Canadian for a double(2 pcs.) Coleslaw, fries and a roll… Got the chowder and it was great… Ordered a extra fries but you don’t need it… Fresh is the best way to describe the fish… On Murphy and London road. Easy from the bridge. Exit Indian rd, left on London rd, right on Murphy ½ block on right hand side.

This has been the restaurant my family and I have been eating from for over 20 years and it’s never let us down! Everything about the food here is delicious and every time I visit Sarnia I always make sure to stop off here for a meal with friends. I’m also glad they have started leaving bottles of tartar sauce at the table since I go through that stuff like it’s going out of style!

This place has the best fish & chip around. I have gone here about 20 times In the last 2 years and never had a bad meal. The batter is tasty and the fish is always fresh. I love the hand cut chips/fries and the fish has never been greasy. I suggest ordering the haddock crispies and chips best thing on their menu. Happy Dining,

Drove from Indiana to eat here. Memories from childhood at The Wharf. It was just as good as I remembered. Wish I lived closer. Customs at the border were skeptical that we crossed the border just for fish.

My friend and I decided to cross the border just for the heck of it. The border control agent recommended this place to it and we loved it. The fish and chips were battered nicely, tartar sauce was great and the staff was super friendly. I definitely recommend it when you are in the mood for some fried goodness!

If you like fish and chips, this is probably a good place to go. For me, I’m a little unsure of how to rate it. The other day I met a friend here based on its Unilocal rating.(We’re both from out-of-town so had no idea where to go.) When I first entered the décor struck me as a little drab(kind of a brown docks theme), but I suppose as a fish and chips place this can work. When we sat down, we were quickly served. She was great — very helpful and friendly. She recommend we get the double haddock and chips. We obliged. When the food arrived, I got the same slightly disappointed feeling as when entering the restaurant. Like the restaurant, it was all brown(fried). It just looked dull. The taste was fine but I found myself wishing they offered perch on the menu, which in my opinion makes great fish and chips. Some greens would have been good too but — again — I know this is fish and chips, and I should have expected what I got! Overall, if you like fish and chips, this should do the trick. I have had better(I’m thinking Purdy’s in Grand Bend and The One That Got Away all the way over in Toronto), but this place should do just fine.

Been coming here for years, going back to their old location down the street. I’ve never been able to find a fish & chips that even compares to the Wharf. Get the Halibut, it’s worth it.

I went here on a Tuesday night with 2 co-workers. This place used to be a Captain Jack’s fish restaurant which used to serve alcohol. Now it does not serve alcohol, and that made me sad. I had already had fish n chips for lunch, so I was hoping they had something else on the menu. I wanted some grilled salmon, but they were all out of salmon. So I ordered a grilled chicken breast with baked potato. They were all out of baked potatoes. So I got rice. The food was good, but I think it would have tasted a lot better with an Alexander Keith’s or a Canadien to wash it down. My co-workers enjoyed their meals. The fish n chips looked good, I saw what they looked like but didn’t taste!

This is hands down the best fish & chips in the world! Literally. No joke. I’m always on the lookout for great fish & chips and I’ve been lucky enough to eat some great fish & chips all over the US and even in the UK several times, and this place is better than all of them. The key is the fish, instead of using the traditional cod, they use halibut. A great unique, clean tasting fish that lends itself well to deep frying. Plus the chips are the best as well! They are the perfect accompaniment to the fish, big crispy(but not to crispy) fries, covered in salt and malt vinegar. You can’t go wrong. They also have a great clam chowder and milk shakes too. My family has been going to this place for about thirty years and I can’t recommend it enough. It should be noted that this place is not fancy and there is nothing of real interest in the surrounding area, however I would still recommend the long drive(for me). With the exchange rate, the food can be a little be pricey as well.
