Late night store run for some munchies to go with our dvd movie. I’m so glad there are a number of Metro’s that are open 24⁄7. This one is in the Kennedy Commons shopping plaza and is HUGE, organized and clean! Lots of choices for late night snackin. Passed by the bakery and noticed they had enormous bagels the size of my hand. They had 2 large rolling racks full of discounted bakery items but nothing that I was in the mood for. Took a peek at their refrigerated meat section and noticed some packages marked 40% off(good deal if you’re gonna cook it right away). I’m gonna pass, definitely NOT cooking at this time of night(11 pm). Wow! The chip aisle is a snack lover’s dream, lots and lots of healthy and unhealthy options, name brands and generic. The bulk snack and candy bins were in the same aisle. Picked up some roasted, salted macadamia nuts for $ 4.07÷100 gms. Took a look around and saw their floral department, it’s one of the biggest I’ve seen in a grocery store. Went to check out and had two choices either self check out(there were 4 stations open) or be lazy and line up at the one and only cash register that was open. Even though the self check out was faster I chose to stand in the regular check out line. Walkin out noticed they sectioned off part of the parking lot for plants and gardening items, will be back to check this out. They may be more expensive than No Frills but when you want name brands or a lot of variety AND it’s late at night or very early in the morning this is the store for you. Keep your eyes peeled and make sure to pick up their store flyer because you can still find good deals here.

My go to place for birthday cake or special occasion cake. Pre-order the cake the day before the party. They bake it fresh for you. Meat section has better selection and better price than No frills.

Happened to visit this Metro location for the first time last night and I would highly recommend it. Larger and better laid out than most of their other stores, with a very good ethic food section. (As usual, when I review a chain, I am reviewing a specific location, not the chain itself. I wish other reviewers would follow suit as general reviews of chains should be posted under their corporate offices!)

Metro Grocery stores are my favorite for two reasons really. 1. The are open 24⁄7 2. They have Air Mile I go to a Metro to buy just about everything, even gift cards for other stores.

I usually come in here on the way to or from my parents house to grab something quickly. That said, I usually find what I’m looking for nearly right away and almost never wait in a huge line. Nice work.

They have these REALLY big cupcakes that can actully serve 3 people a slice of cake, and they re amazing. Its actully a cupcake cut in haif and filled with the best frosting ive ever had, no aftertaste at all. I don’t know the price because I got this as my birthday cake. At valentines they have red velvet and with or without a date on that day it really dont matter because this thing makes you forget about everything except how good it tastes. Those are I think 10 bucks.

This is my favourite Metro. It’s always stocked and very clean. Plus their discount carts are always full of stuff!

I actually go to this to this location just for their fresh made pizza, a certain young big n’ tall jolly white guy is a top notch pizza chef. If you do catch him there on his shift do ask him to make you pizza! When I do go there I go for the 2 large pizzas with 3 toppings each deal for $ 21.99. The pizza itself rivals the other big pizza names. An analogue to pizza & pizza nova for a significantly lower price.

This is probably the nicest Metro grocery store I have ever shopped in. Big, clean and full of wonderful food. Great deli, produce section, meat section, bakery. So why only 3 stars? Well, the staff for one. The deli staff are few and far between, lots of long wait times, complain in front of the customers. The cashiers are not so friendly and the cashier today didn“t know how to pack a grocery bag. The traffic is horrendous in this part of town, no matter when I have been there. Having said all of this, I still venture 20 minutes from home to shop here as I can always find the products I am looking for. Always fresh. I guess some things are worth the trade off.
