Good food and even better service! Food arrived quickly and hot, great place to dine in Sechelt.

Lovely sushi — fresh and tasty. Comparable to Vancouver sushi restaurants — which is a huge compliment. Sashimi slices were incredibly generous — at least twice the size of what we usually get in the city. Ebi sunomono featured lovely fresh shrimp, firm noodles, crisp cucumber, fresh lemon. Teriyaki was steaming hot and tasty. Rice was perfectly cooked. Agedashi tofu was so hot we had to poke holes in to let the steam out. Nice work. We will return.

I’ve only visited one but was advised this restaurant has recently changed hands and now under new management but the quality of the sushi and service was excellent. Free green tea included with your meal and the vegetarian options were plentiful as well as being creative which was a refreshing change. I had the apple & mango rolls and the vegetable tempura, both were delicious and tasty and would recommend to all. A nice place with friendly staff and felt the price was reasonable. With new owners this place continues serving tasty sushi.

Our dining experience lasted an hour and a half, with the hour spent sitting around waiting for our food, and watching tables that arrived AFTER us get their food first. The food was only okay, but definitely not worth the hour long wait.

Sushi Bar 5517 has such an extensive menu, it is often hard to choose from. From sashimi to fish and chips, the chefs here can make it all. The service is very good and the restaurant is cozy. There is an outside patio for those who want a view of Cowrie Street. The lunch boxes are fun because the varieties often include the«roll of the day» and the«special of the day» which means you don’t really know what you’re going to be served. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but there’s a good deal of food included. The fish tastes fresh, something that is non-negotiable when eating sushi. I love the spicy chicken karage. :) This is a great stop is Sechelt.

Better than that one on wharf rd next to the bike shop that was nasty and way over priced. Ichiban was good a bit dark inside but food was fresh and tasty. No one seems to have brown rice or rice paper. The food at the sushi bar next to Claytons is very nice though.

After a two year absence from the Coast, I could hardly wait to get here for Mike’s sushi. It is even better than it used to be. The menu has expanded and there are so many new items that I could eat here weekly and still not get through them all in a year. I have eaten Sushi all over the world(well not Japan) and this is the best. place. ever.

The best sushi in Sechelt. Try the salmon ginger lettuce wraps.

Who would have thunk? A nice tasty Sushi bar in the middle of the sticks? Many local fresh fish and oysters. Try the oysters. Yum. Everything was made with love and skill and nothing tasted out of a bottle. One little thing. If you ask for anything(like extra ginger) it will be on your bill!

This is probably the best sushi option in Sechelt area. I found the sushi to be inconsistent. The salmon was very good and fresh however the tuna and spicy rolls were not very good. It’s also on the pricy side.

This was recommended by our B&B host. We were reticent to go given a gluten allergy but lo and behold they offered gluten free soy sauce, and even substituted with it in the lobster soup we ordered. Moreover, it was some of the very best sushi and sashimi we have every had. We thought some of the menu items were quite creative, i.e. sake margaritas and tuna«tacos». The service was excellent, the ambience tasteful and friendly, and the food amazing. It was also quite a popular place, so I am surprised there aren’t more reviews here. We loved it so much we returned a second night!

What amazes me most as I begin to write this is that no one has written a review yet considering how popular it is. I dined there on a Tuesday night when there was not a an empty seat in the house and I was glad my brother had arrived before the rest of us to get a table. The hallmark of a good sushi restaurant is simple: fresh quality ingredients. This place did a good job of living up to that goal. From the Tuna Tataki my niece had to the rolls my brother had that were encased not by nori but by a bean paste paper my family enjoyed their meals. I with a seafood allergy have become a tempura connoisseur and search out interesting things to dip in my soy. The asparagus, purple new potato and brussels sprouts were very welcome and satisfying. I also liked the trio of croquettes with curry sauce although they weren’t exactly traditional Japanese fare. All in all I enjoyed my visit very much and will return.

Awesome! Lots of great, inventive things to try that I haven’t seen at other sushi restaurants. FAR better than the alternative across the road.
