It’s probably worth 3.5 stars… so, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and go up to 4. My group of 3 arrived at 6 pm on Saturday. Early enough that there was lots of people in there, but we were still able to find a seat no problem. We score one of the comfy booths. We could tell that there was a group doing some fundraising later that night, as they were starting to set up their silent auction items in the«upper area». I was surprised that the noise level in this sports bar was not overbearing. We were able to hold a conversation without shouting, despite the fact that the bar filled up quickly for the hockey game. Service was decent but not spectacular. The waitress was friendly, but didn’t know what«cointreau» was and made no drink suggestions when I told her I was having a hard time making up my mind. I settled on beer because a $ 12 cocktail in a sports bar was not overly appealing. Prices overall seemed to be unusually high. My friend ordered nachos for herself. She asked the waitress if they were really cheesy, or if she should order extra cheese, and she was assured there was plenty of cheese. wrong. Cheese was sprinkled lightly on top of the nachos and was barely enough to even see. subsequent layers contained no cheese whatsoever. The other 2 of use both ordered the soft taco. I was really disappointed in it personally. The only warm element was the meat(your choice of ground beef or chicken), and everything else cooled it down significantly. The flavours were all really generic and bland and the tortilla used was far too large and we both ended up peeling off excess wrap. I will say that the fries were DELICIOUS. They’re obviously a frozen product, but they were the highlight of my meal for sure. We were there from 6 pm until just before 10 pm and the waitress was getting a little annoyed with us towards the end because we were just drinking water(we had each ordered dinner and 3 — 6 drinks prior to slowing down). It wasn’t a blatant annoyance, but I know she wanted to turn the table over to someone else. Having worked in the service industry for years myself, I’m very aware that typically you don’t make a lot of tips on tables like ours… and because of that, I over-tip to make up for it. TL:DR — Food and service was not spectacular, BUT, that atmosphere is fantastic and I was very comfortable here. I would come back, but would probably stick to the appetizer menu.

This home grown bar is pretty darn good. It has some great specials(see my review) and it actually feels like a bar. Many bars I visit feel like upscale restaurants. Loud, noisy, and dim. A great place to watch a game. Not the type of place you take your mom Pros Great Specials Lots of parking Cons They don’t have any specials before 4pm. So don’t bother coming before then. I asked if we could have the special at 3pm, nope. Not till 4pm Prices are so so.

Best place in Sherwood Park to watch a game. Always have great specials and giveaways, as well as one of the best patios in SP.

MUST visit the patio! It’s beautiful and has a misting bar!(have not seen this anywhere in Edmonton, very big in Vegas) The service was good! Ordered the beef dip. I suggest«poutine ing«your fries! Fries tasted great, they did not skimp on the gravy or the cheese curd!!! Awesome! Ordered the brownie for dessert. The brownie was warm and a bit crispy on the outside. Flavour was not there though. Skip it, as it will not satisfy your chocolate craving.

I went at happy hour with my spouse, and the pints were still 6.25, not a fantastic happy hour price. We both had salads, his was steak salad, and his steak was cooked perfectly, but at $ 18, definitely overpriced. I ordered a Cobb salad, and probably the worst Cobb I have ever had. For $ 14 there was grated cheddar replacing the usual blue cheese. Sliced sandwich meat was substituted for the usual chunks of meat. Overall a very disappointing meal for the price. Service, however, was pleasant. We will not be returning.

Great patio and service. I had the Thai Noodle Salad with Shrimp. Pretty darn tasty. As a personal preference I think the salad would taste amazing as a warm salad. The shrimp is served warm on the plate. Will be back for sure

This place has come a long way since its early days. Years ago it was a bit of a dump. The menu was hokey and the food was average at best. But now this place is much better. The décor is cleaner, the layout is nice and the addition of the patio makes this place fantastic. But what about the food you ask? It’s a great place for pub eats. The menu has a wide selection of grub to whet any appetite. Their beer selection is huge and they have a TON of TVs. When the NHL, NFL, CFL, or MLB is in full swing, count on them showing a ton of games playing. The staff here are also great, all the waitresses are friendly and quick. But be warned, when this place is packed it can get a bit slow. If you are into the Oilers or Eskimos they offer a bus ride from their location just make sure to purchase tickets in advance. Depending on who is in town, they sell out quickly. This is a much-needed sports bar for Sherwood Park, I’m super happy they don’t stay complacent. The décor updates and menu changes are what will keep this place successful for years to come.

what a great place to watch the NFL! I came to average joes to watch the NFL on Sunday and it was a really great experience. There are televisions in every direction with every game on. Our server was unbelievably good. She was always buzzing around offering top ups, clearing plates, checking in and visiting. She was a pro… So much so that i almost felt bad switching to water after the first game, she had nothing to do! The appetizers were great. We had chicken wings, deep fried fire cracker shrimp, nachos, dry ribs, and mozzarella sticks which were all good. The beer selection ranks in at about a dozen beers on draft which is nothing to write home about, but still pretty good for a sports bar. They also keep people after the games by offering the chance to burn your bill by entering a draw during the game. Pretty cool promotion. I will definitely go back if I can get my wife’s permission.

I use to get great service, but not anymore. I am sorry for being an inconvenience to your serving staff. Place was dead, there were at least 4 waitresses waited 20 minutes without getting so much as a hi. Use to be one of my favourite spots but the lack of service is quickly changing that.

I’m anything but Average, but I came here on a recommendation that they serve Craft beer. Well, they did have ONE Alleykat on — the Aprikat, which we liked. Then the server mispronounced Shocktop when trying to clarify the one interesting European import on the menu, and although we ordered a pint we got a whole pitcher — a rip off at that, $ 25 a jug for mediocre American imitation craft beer. They also had no idea what their own rotating tap was. We got disgusting glasses with other people’s mouth imprints on them. A couple of server-dudes walked by but did not ask what the empty glasses and full pitcher was about. The burger special on Thursday was a highlight, $ 8 for a base burger. Decent but the atmosphere gives me the creeps. There are more TVs in here than any bar I’ve seen. I am a sport lover, but I need a couple of massive well-placed screens, not every place I look lined with one. Total waste of money if you ask me. Though it’s probably awesome for hockey playoffs. They have a hidden jewel at the bathrooms, if you ever have to suffer this place, one of those bowling lane games. Fun! Stick with Original Joe’s if you must — and forego the Average.

Thanks to Adam for helping out our riding club, The Rig Riders and hosting our silent auction to raise money to go towards an injured oilfield worker. Shout out to Whiskey For The Pain… I you ever need an awesome band, then this is the one for you! They are dialed in :)

Came here for wing night. Good price at 4 buck a pound, but that’s the best part. They were a good size but dry. I ordered a hot and a salt and pepper, I got 2 hot. We ordered a poutine it was luke warm, which sucks fir the cheese curds. My friend had the Spanish dip, it came in a bread bowl which was a nice touch and the piece they cut out of the top was very nice, however the rest of the bowl was soggy grease. I know other reviews say they have decent food, but I didn’t like it enough to try it again. Will not return :(

This place will always hold a special place for me as it’s where I met my better half. We do go back by choice! I like the food here, especially the deep fried mini perogies. The atmosphere is fun, and it’s easy to book for a large group. Half the time there’s also an event going on for something or another– makes for an interesting visit!

It is a large popular bar in Sherwood Park that is open late. Good for late night. TV screens everywhere and large! New renovation has changed it from the eclectic sports to a modern urban bland bar. Beer prices are now $ 7 and $ 8 a pint! Although you can get sleeves for five and a half. They shrunk the quesadilla to fit in a salad. Burgers are OK. Food prices did go up a little. This place competes with the Brewhouse. They turn up music on Thursday to the weekend which I find too loud. Mixed age crowd. A lot of sports groups come here. Service is erratic. It’s an OK place and the bonus is that it’s open late on week nights. Taxis dangerously double parked out front which impedes traffic and visibility. They should assign the taxis two stalls just across the way from the front row parking.

If you are looking for decent pub fare with sports bar ambience, this is the place for you! Lots of tables and booths(usually all full!) and oodles of large screen tvs. I had the steak salad and it was perfect. The steak was done medium and still warm to the taste. Lots of great greens and cheese topped it off. The waitress and kitchen were very accommodating to my husbands food sensitivities and he was able to get some food — not always possible in a pub! The only thing that stopped this from being rated higher was the staff hanging around the outdoor patio on their smoke break. I would have enjoyed the patio, but not the added«smoky ambiance»

Last night after the Rush game, my bride & I detoured via Original Joe’s on way home. Have not stopped there for about 18 months. Wine selection is limited, but managed to find something. Bar menu is pretty typical, the burgers are great, the wings so-so. If going for wings, go elsewhere, but okay if that is your watering hole. I would go out of my way for the burgers. On busy nights could use more servers, we were in the upper section and only had one lady, she did work here butt off, tray was always full of drinks or empties, but wait was long. Lots of screens but really how many views do I need of Vegas poker. Lots of cabs waiting near door.

I usually really enjoy this place. Its large open floor plan and numerous big screens make it one of my favorite places to go to watch a sporting event. However, I believe that all of Sherwood Park agrees with me on that so sometimes finding seating for a major sporting event(or even just a regular season Oilers game) can be an all day event. I think the quality of service here can depend on the day or the time of the day. Usually when I go, the services is pretty good — during busy times they seem to staff themselves appropriately. However, I have found that during ‘slower’ times they seem to really short staff themselves and the quality of service suffers. The food — a bit of an expanded bar menu — is usually really good and there is lots to choose from. Gotta say though — I would have given this place 4(…maybe 5) stars if they didn’t get rid of the HOUSEOFTHEDEAD game??? :’((now what am I guna do when all my friends are watching some boring sporting event that I am not interested in — big buck hunter is just cruel and not nearly as fun hahaha!!!). But, in their defense, they do have pool(if u can get the table), virtual golf, various other video games, and VLTs if that’s your thing.

Love going here with friends. The menu is the usual bar fare and is pretty good(nothing special though) but they have great wings. What I love most is the restaurant itself(lots of screens, sports memorabilia everywhere) and the busy atmosphere. I’m pretty sure I’ve knocked down at least half the menu if not more and my favourites include the quesadilla, the burgers(chicken and beef) and the Havanna Sandwich.

As far as pub food goes, Average Joe’s is better than average. I’ve been a couple of times, and everything around the table has been much better than expected. The menu has a large selection that includes flat bread pizza and salads. The everything we’ve tried was tasty and plentiful and the sandwiches and burgers come with a choice of fries or onion rings. The staff is really friendly and helpful, and their nightly specials are actually worth stopping in for.
