Best pulled pork available in a restaurant! Amazing home made bbq sauces, very tasty sides(slaw and cornbread very good) and a personable and friendly staff. I come here every time I’m in the area and hope they expand to other locations. Highly recommended the triple slider, three different mini burgers to give a good sample of how excellent the food is.

First visit, very good, very friendly service. Lots of food! Smoked turkey is very good, not dry. Coleslaw and mashed potatoes are delish and iced tea tastes like what my mom made when I was a kid. Sliders are a great option to try the different smoked meats. Didn’t have room for dessert this time.

I have never in my life been soon impressed with an establishment. There is so much love put into this family run, non-chain restaurant. The food was awesome and the portions large enough I brought some home to enjoy tomorrow. I had the mashed potatoes and cornbread for my sides and devoured them. The owner was manning the front tonight which was so nice. He really knew his product and took pride in his recipes and his sauces. I appreciated the unlimited refills… even though I didn’t make it through the first lemonade. I recommend everyone pop in here at least once and let their magic work on you!

Came here tonight with my bf before his shift. Have not had this much to eat in a while! I had the one meat special choosing beef brisket and it was more than enough with two sides included my sides were the coleslaw and the mashed potatoes. The cole slaw was so so but i expected that since its hard to get fresh ingredients to keep in winter. Now the mashed potatoes were mind blowing! Im talking if i could have had a huge helping of just mashed that would of been fine cause holy carp i could totally eat those day in and out! My bfs meal was the two meat with him deciding on pulled pork and beef brisket and a baked potatoe and a baked bean side. He loved the beans and said next time he’d definitely pair the mashed potatoes with the beans and one meat cause two was excessive even for his appetite. The signature sauces on the tables come in three choices sweet spicy and original, both of us played it safe and got the original which was just spicy enough and tangy. Im pretty picky with bbq sauce but i did live the original! Service was prompt and professional with some really wacky décor happen I happen I in the walls. Definitely somewhere to treat your man for a relaxing semi fast food experience. We arrived an hour before close on a Sunday and there were only two other customers in there making for it to be a calm peaceful meal. If you dine in your food is served directly on a paper placemat on a tray so pretty neat way of serving there hearty tasty cuisine. Will be back to show my dad.

That BBQ Place cannot be beat for true southern BBQ in Canada. The brisket, ribs, pork and turkey are all to die for. Pitmaster Bruce’s baked beans are deadly, made with love and a little brisket for good measure. The sides are all as good as the smoked meat. I almost always go for beans and slaw but the cornbread and garlic mashed potatoes make great alternates.

Sliders where awesome and restaurant was very clean. Tho the price for two triple sliders combo’s and two pops was over 34 dollars a bit pricey for the amount you get in meats. The potatoes chips came like someone sat on them or bottom of bag(more crumbs then anything with a few chips on top). And what they advertise as whipped and creamy garlic potatoes were nothing short of lumpy and had more lumps in the potatoes then Edmonton has potholes ! They where disgusting as hell. My friend agrees his sliders where great and the beans here also good but his baked potato was barely warm. Yes he told them and nothing was offered so I see how customer service is here. I will say again the sliders are good but for that price more meat should be added.

This is my fourth visit. It’s much improved from our first visit but still not yummy. The brisket, while not petrified, was still dry and chewy. I’m not sure whether the bun was stale or just not to my liking. It was kinda dry too but that might be the way its supposed to be. I liked the mashed potato side. Fairly garlicky. Coleslaw too saucy for me but not bad. In general, I love brisket on a bun… but here it’s …passable. Not something to make a point of coming out for.

We are from the South and this is the only place we found in Edmonton that reminds us of home… they even have the freshly brewed sweet tea and not that neste crap… great BBQ… very authentic… Southern approved…

Amazing fast, friendly service. They read order wrong when we asked for brisket and ribs and got brisket and pulled pork. They then just brought us the ribs on the side. All were amazing. Especially the pulled potatoe. I recommend substituting the coleslaw for beans. So much food. Even the owner Bruce came over to bring us rake out containers. we couldn’t eat it all. Amazing guy, amazing place. Bbq sauces were all homemade and so good. even the spicy! Price is right too. We will be back for sure!

We ordered takeout. A separate container for buns, potato chips, sauce, coleslaw, cornbread and beef. Beef was in plastic bags. Coleslaw and cornbread were good. Beef left a smoky natural gas aftertaste that felt weird. Smelled like a campfire. We bought some potato salad from a grocery store instead of using the bun and potato chips. They gave us a lot of sauce. I would like to know how they prepare the beef… that much smoke can’t be healthy. We would try elsewhere next time.

I ordered the Half Rack Ribs with Corn Bread and Mashed Potatoes. Ribs are very chewy and dry. The Corn Bread and Mashed Potatoes are both very good. Fired Up BBQ is better. Will only come back here for the Corn Bread and Mashed Potatoes.

First meal out since I discovered a number of allergies about 5 months ago. The staff and owner were very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and patiently answered all my questions. There were 6 of us, so we shared the 3 meat combo(we chose the beef, ribs, and pork) as well as garlic mashed potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, chips, and pickles. We had barely gotten ourselves drinks and sat down when the food was already arriving at our table. It was fresh and hot and very delicious. We will definitely be returning again!

I went to That Bar-B-Q Place when it first opened and thought it was decent, so decided to go there for lunch with a friend today to try it again. We met at 11:30 so it was very quiet when I first got there, but it did pick up later. I ordered and by the time I had paid, my food was ready on the counter. Very fast… maybe too fast? I ordered the brisket sandwich with beans and my friend got the pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes. The first bite was pretty disappointing. Then bun was stale and tasted a few days old. The brisket was very dry and pretty flavourless. I was able to douse the meat in barbecue sauce, so that kind of salvaged it, but I prefer to have the meat stand alone, not just be masqueraded in a sauce. There was no saving the stale bun though. I had tried the pit beans the first time I was there and enjoyed the smoky taste and brisket mixed in. This time, I could hardly distinguish them from beans straight out of a can. My friend wasn’t very fond of his pulled pork sandwich, saying that it was very bland. Honestly, the only saving grace of this place is the barbecue sauce. Everything else was a big meh. I’ve had much better barbecue at chain restaurants than this specialty barbecue place.

Unique presentation and generous portions. This is a cafeteria style experience. You go up to the front counter to order your meal. The staff is phenomenal about taking care of their guests, so don’t be afraid to tip up front! The restaurant is very«eco-friendly» which is always nice to see. Your meal is served on a piece of butcher’s paper on top of a small serving tray. The cups and utensils are also disposable/biodegradable. This is one of the only restaurants I have seen where you can make your own meal. You have a choice of ribs, pulled pork, brisket or smoked turkey. There is also a selection of sides. The«Two Meat Plate» was a huge portion size with two meats and two sides. My husband couldn’t finish it all. He highly recommends the Pit Beans — they were very good. I had the«Pulled Potato» which is unique to this restaurant. It is a baked potato lined with apple-wood smoked cheddar, mayo, your choice of meat, BBQ sauce, coleslaw and pickles. It was a meal in itself. Very tasty! A great gluten-free option. You have a choice of three different types of house-made BBQ sauces here: House, hot and sweet. All of the smoked meat is made with BC Apple Wood. There are gluten free buns and dessert options. They have a great special for a «Family Platter for Four». This is three meats, two large sides, four cornbread, chips, pickles and BBQ sauce for $ 49.95. There were a few people that came and picked one of these up while we were eating. The staff checked in on us several times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. They were very attentive and knowledgeable. We will be back!
