The Haunted Bookshop

I dare you to walk out of Haunted Bookshop without finding a book you want.
HB was founded in 1947 and is the oldest antiquarian bookshop on the island. They stock everything from speculative fiction giants like Poe, Asimov, and Lovecraft, to the Ice and Fire series.
They also have a large selection of academic fare, mysteries, and general fiction, and they edit their stock so you won’t find nineteen copies of Jackie Collins’ latest abomination there.
With a name like Haunted Bookshop, I expected a much larger speculative fiction section but what they have is very good. Today I bought two beautiful first edition hardcovers by Ray Bradbury and Algernon Blackwood.
The shop’s layout is charmingly full of little nooks and closets to get lost in. They do close at 5, even on weekends. Overall a great place to spend an hour. Or two. Or three.
