Sooke Harbour House Hotel and Restaurant is located on a bluff looking out at the Sooke Harbour, the Straits of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountain Range. We are fortunate to be in an area that is unsurpassed for beauty year round and is rich in recreational opportunities. Relaxation, romance and restoration of body and soul attract vital people to our Inn.

Our twenty-​eight guest rooms offer water views, wood-​burning fireplaces, spa tubs or misting shows, unique antiques and collectibles.

Our restaurant features the freshest of local seafood, meats and produce. Our menu changes on a daily basis. Our wine cellar has been the recipient of the Wine Spectator Grand Award since 2000. The grounds are planned as an edible landscape, with indigenous plants, common and unusual herbs.

To enhance your relaxation Sooke Harbour House Sea-​renity Spa offers a variety of body and massage treatments provided in the privacy of your guest room.

History

Established in 1925.

In 1979, current owners and Innkeepers Frederique and Sinclair Philip, purchased Sooke Harbour House, a house with five small guestrooms, no private guest bathrooms, and a small dining room. They began catering largely to Sooke and Victoria customers.

In 1986, just seven years after the initial purchase, Frederique and Sinclair built ten additional guestrooms, pioneering the now common practice of providing larger, more luxurious guestrooms featuring fireplaces, sitting areas and bathtubs for two. Sooke Harbour House became one of the first full-​service, small inns to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner for in-​house guests.

In 1988, the original five guestrooms were renovated to offer the luxury and pampering for which Sooke Harbour House had developed a world-​wide reputation and in 1998 a further 13 rooms were added bringing the total to 28.
