The poutine was pretty good. There were so many menu options that it was pretty hard to navigate unless you knew what you were doing. It’s not clear what the three options are for each size. The specialty items are listed on the menu. The medium was a bit too much food, especially since its so heavy with the gravy and cheese. I think the small would have been a better size.

found a hair in my poutine. the kitchen was a mess. no surprise. i was not even offered a refund. what kind of customer service is that? i would never go back to smokes. poutine is available everywhere. you are better off anywhere else.

I had the bacon cheeseburger poutine, it was amazing. friendly service and big portion sizes, so big it took me two days to eat it!

if you blink… you will miss it! this location is quite awkward to get to, however like the other fine poutineries, it delivers on the gravy and cheesy goodness. expect to pay for parking, which sucks!

Great food! Convenient location right in the heart of downtown. Open late, and a go-to after a night out. There are usually long line-ups at this time, but is well worth the wait. Also lack of parking is a pain, but there is paid street parking available. Always served very hot and fresh by friendly staff! Service is decent — nothing that stands out but still nice. They don’t usually give recommendations based on the countless options available. If it’s your first visit, don’t be surprised if it takes you 10+ minutes to decide what you want! No vegan or vegetarian options(the gravy is on everything) so I will not return, only for the reason that I am now vegan. Great choice for any non-vegan or vegetarians.

First time there so I ordered a regular poutine straight up so that I could judge it on the essentials and not get distracted with the steak and mushrooms. I had high expectations but the poutine was rather unremarkable. The gravy was the best part a solid three star. The fries, nothing special, but also a 3⁄5. I would have liked a little more flavour and crispness there. The curds were a 1 star — refrigerator cold and they never melted at all. Overall, not great, not horrible, but rather bland. I would have given 3 stars except that it in no way lived up to all the hype and the very high price. Nothing special here. Overrated.

Driving from upstate New York to or through Canada, this place is right on the way, and right on the money. We’ve been here a few times, and it seems to get better on each return trip. We’ve tried a bunch of the options between us, and they all rule. Off hand, I’d say to start with the bacon cheeseburger, or a steak one. Coke in glass bottles, and we always sign the chalk board. I LOVE poutine, and I love Smoke’s.

First time in Canada and I had to try Ontario poutines. I had the beef stroganoff. My had the cheeseburger poutine. Stroganoff was awesome. Came with beef, gravy, grilled onions, topped with chunks of pickles. The cheeseburger was great as well.

I’ve gone here a few times, best comfort food ever! They have a bunch of different poutine combinations, I’ve had the triple and double pork. My fiancé has had the nacho poutine. It was all unexpectedly awesome! Good prices, weird location. You really have to work to find this diamond in the rough. It’s super casual looking inside. I’m a customer for life!

Great poutine. If you crave poutine, this is the best place in St Catharines to scratch that itch. Not a bad place(for a franchise), and they have vegan options!

I’ve been here twice and I’m going to give it a five. I was thinking a four but that’s only because my boyfriend ordered ground beef which I loathe, so no fault of Smoke’s Poutinery. The amount of food I can eat after a night out is DISGUSTING. Smoke’s is always there to help me accomplish that. After the bar if you don’t want to get a pita(which I don’t), you go to Smoke’s Poutinery. And then you get the WOW size… and eat the WHOLE thing. Whatever… it probably lessens the hangover and my boyfriend helped me eat it. The staff here is so funny… or maybe everything is just funny at that time. But anyways, they know you’ve been drinking and they don’t care, they have fun with it. What I tried: Philly Cheese Steak Poutine. Made with steak, not ground beef(thank god), tonnes of cheese, fries, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and more cheese on top of that. It was almost life changing. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. 2nd time we had the Nacho Grande. It was aiight. I tried to avoid the ground beef. Solid place. Obviously we’ll visit again.
