Established in 1992.

St. Catharines Karate School has been established since 1992 .The instructors are all certified black belts with many years of experience in teaching both children and adults. All classes are taught by qualified instructors of the St. Catharines Karate School system. Our martial arts system is a fast moving system that works with the principals of deflection and evasion with emphasis on speed and practical application of techniques.

Meet the Manager

Kyoshi Sensei Birnie R.

Manager

Kyoshi Sensei Birnie has studied martial arts for the past 46 years. He has experience in the arts of Karate, Jujitsu and Akido. Weapons training had been a hobby that has transformed into a passion. Mr. Birnie has experience in several martial arts. He started practicing at the age of 14 when martial arts was not well known. In the 1970s martial arts was taught in small out of the way Dojos and was quite mysterious to most.

Mr Birnie started as an apprentice instructor after he received his first black belt (Shodan).As a second degree blackbelt (Nidan)he was qualfied to strike out on his own. Now as a fifth degree blackbelt (Godan)

he has blackbelt intructors up to fourth degree (Yondan). Kyoshi Sensei Birnie continues to train in all aspects of his martial arts as he prepares for the next level of acheivement, sixth degree (Ryuku Dan) .This level of expertice should be acheived within the next couple of years.
