Wow. That snobby self-hating insect inside myself always tells me that«If it’s in Ontario, It can’t be that good». The one that sneers and snickers at me when I spend a weekend without my passport in hand. Well, we just shut that insect up. Didn’t we? One of the most genuine and honest travel experiences I’ve had the pleasure of stumbling upon. Quite literally, the stuff of storybooks. A family-owned microwinery on a sideroad. A barn that’s been converted into a tasting room. Hand-numbered bottles. You feel the personal connection the second you walk through the door. A generously unrushed tasting process. Warm conversation with the family that owns the winery. You leave not feeling like a customer, but like someone who’s deeply connected and genuinely involved. Someone who cares. Sure, it doesn’t hurt that they have arguably the best Pinot Gris on this half of the continent. But their entire offering is incredibly solid. The LCBO would kill to have consistent quality like this. Highly recommended.

Great customer service, outstanding wine and beautiful tasting room. This is as good as it gets in Niagara.

I’m not a fan of white wine but their selection was GREAT! Reds are still very young tasting but I’m sure they will get better with time. The tastings are free and they have complimentary shaved Parmesan and crackers. The place is family run and the mother did our tasting with her son(owner) doing another beside us. Very intimate. Friendly. Would totally recommend

This was the first winery we visited on a two week vacation across eastern Ontario. Not only is the wine excellent but the staff were extremely polite, very friendly and made our tasting very interesting, actually, it made the tasting not boring, I know nothing about wine except that it’s red or white and yummy all over. This wine was definitely yummy all over. They were genuinely interested in where we were from, where we thought we might drink the wine, and gave us information to provide feedback so that they could better the wine after we had drank our bottle. I would definitely advise you visit them!

Amazing Taste, Amazing People! After stopping at seven of Niagara’s vineyards, all I can say to you is make sure FIVEROWS one of those stops. Its great for red and white wine lovers. Throughout these visits, we would be asking the owners and employees if there were any other wineries they’d recommend. Guess which name kept popping up? ‘Five Rows’. Sooo, finishing up what would be our 9th flight of samples, we headed out to see what all the buzz was about. Finding the place turned out to be a bit tricky, but it’s well worth the few odd twists and turns. We soon pulled up to a quaint little barn, and quickly made our way inside. The inside was nicely furnished, giving an easy family/homey feel. After entering, one of the owners(Wilma) invited us over to sit with her. Wilma began sharing story after story, all deliciously peppered with humour. You couldn’t help but feel right at home. However I must confess, for the first five minutes I couldn’t take my eyes off the gigantic cheese block sitting at the centre of the table. Finally I broke, and filled a rainforest cracker(aka the best crackers ever) with smoked parmesan cheese… AMAZING! Besides that… Hanging with Wilma and sampling wines was like hanging with your mom at the dinner table after Thanksgiving; the wine, conversation, and good times just keeps on flowing. To close, this winery has a real passion for making delicious wine, I hope you get a chance to experience it. Recommendation; Five Rows has created a breathtaking 2007 Pinot Noir. Make sure to try it!
