I’m often found waxing poetically about how Newfoundland is actually one of the Isles of the West Indies or the Caribbean; lost in the North Atlantic but yet still connected to these places by the trade of things like salt fish and booze. Ah yes, the finely crafted distilled spirits that we lovingly bottle(and consume) within our shores; in the old days this was gotten in exchange for fish. But don’t try and pay with fish now, they will likely think you are drunk. They will accept credit, debit, or cold hard cash. Decent service.
