Great Service, food was good and the joint was clean. Great classic breakfast joint.

I like sunnyside grill. I love going out for breakfast and have checked out many breakfast places. When comparing with places like the egg and I and bedrock bistro I find that the service at sunny side grill is friendlier. They have a good variety in different breakfast foods and other food on the menu. Most of all I like it that the sunny side grill is so much cleaner than bedrock bistro or the egg and I… Don’t get me wrong I like the food at those places just as much but I wouldn’t use the washrooms because everything looks scuzzy. Sunny grill is nice and clean and colourful, and you can see(most of) the kitchen. The only thing I think needs improvement is the acoustics in the place because of the heigh ceilings. That would make it feel a little more cosy

Ate here with my family, and I am a big fan of Corned Beef Hash. I thought when I saw it on the menu, that there was no question of what I was to order. Nothing like anything I have had in the US or Canada. Poorly prepared home fries and not hash… and corned beef like that from a Shopsy’s package. Prepared on a flat top griddle, it STEAMED this low-grade version of a classic dish. Nobody was impressed with their meal at all. STAYAWAY!

Food was good and reasonably priced. Waitress was alright. didn’t remember who ordered what so we had to tell her when she brought our food. Had to keep asking for a drink or refill. Was a pretty busy place. Would definitely go back again but hopefully get a difference waitress.

Nice enough staff and décor, food was not good. Portions were very small, prices didn’t really reflect that. Also ended up paying $ 2 for an added order of «poutine» and received not what you would think of as poutine. It was their homestyle cut potatoes with gravy and cheese curds. I asked the waitress about it and she had a slight attitude while saying, «If you look on the menu, no where does it say we serve fries.» I replied, «right. But no where does anyone think of potatoes when they think of poutine. It’s fries. Always.» She just shrugged and walked away. I ordered a grilled chicken with lettuce and omitted the tomato. The single piece of lettuce on the sandwich was the kind you get when you first open up an iceberg lettuce. Wilted and grayish brown and just very very flat with no crunch. The chicken itself was okay, but there was some kind of spice on it that I did not like and it didn’t agree with my stomach. No where on the menu did it say it was seasoned chicken. I ordered a side of potato salad with it and that was sub par at best. It was potatoes with a bit of mayonnaise and celery. That’s it. This, with the addition of an added«poutine» set me back $ 10. We ordered soda, thinking it would be the fountain kind with unlimited refills and a larger glass, which was reasonable to think for the price tag of $ 2. We instead got a can of Coke. So we paid $ 4 for both our single cans of coke. We could have bought 42L bottles of friggn’ coke for that amount. My husband ordered over easy eggs with sausage, toast and potatoes. They did something completely amateurish that I have never seen before, serving the eggs upside down so when you try to press into it with a nice piece of toast, the yolk breaks underneath and goes all over the plate instead. Will definitely never be going back there again. Our bill was $ 28. For that price we could have went to Wimpys or Sunset Grill at Eastgate and had a much better experience.

Good food and friendly service. Food pricing is average, portion size is a bit small compared to similar restaurants. If the size was a bit larger, it would be perfect. Cost of a beverage is out of this world compared to other breakfast establishments. $ 3.59 for an orange juice and $ 2.50 for a coffee! Other restaurants are half of that. Probably wont be going back anytime soon. I can go to Wimpy’s, Fifty diner and Bedrock and get a bigger breky for the same price and a coffee for less. Service is just as good there too.
