Description

Specialties

Our facilities are open 7 days/week on a year-round basis, with the exception of a brief closure from Christmas Eve until January 3rd.

Our restaurant is very much focused on fresh food items, with meals made «from scratch» as much as possible. We still bake our own bread and pies every morning, our soups are made from scratch, and you may even notice that our grounds feature a number of edible items, including raspberries, squash, zucchini, lettuce, asparagus, tomatoes, and many herbs.

Please keep us in mind for your Christmas Parties, Receptions, or any other special occasion. Private Meeting Space is available also.

History

Established in 1974.

Built in 1925, the Multicultural Heritage Centre was the first High School in this region. It was built using a Scottish architectural design, with a hip-gable roof and a bell tower. As you walk around the Centre, you will find interpretive signage that tells the story of how this building came to be, and of the people that worked and studied here.

By 1973, the building had fallen into a state of disrepair, and was used only as a pigeon roost! With the building slated for demolition, the Heritage Agricultural

Society was formed in 1973 for the purpose of saving this beautiful building and establishing a non-profit Society dedicated to the preservation and presentation of our regional cultural heritage.

After extensive renovations and landscaping, the school was reborn as the Multicultural Heritage Centre in 1974, and is now a Provincial Historic Resource.
