After seeing the 3 star Unilocal rating, I was a bit worried about going here, but it turned out to be quite nice! The service was good — she forgot a few side dishes but promptly brought them out and when she forgot someone’s drink later on in the evening, she took it off the bill. I ordered the sirloin steak(8 oz) which came out a perfect medium rare. The vegetables and potatoes were good but nothing special. The real hit for me were the sauteed mushrooms. Worth the whole $ 3 I paid for them and more!!!

Food was fresh but way overpriced. Service was presumptuous to the point of seeming pompous. The $ 16 burger I ordered(specifically without tomatoes) came with tomato. When I passed this errant tomato to my wife, the waitress made a comment that that shouldn’t have been with the salad. At $ 16, the burger was basic with cheese, bacon or mushrooms offered for an extra $ 3 each. The Caesar salad was drenched in dressing and way overpriced at $ 13. The chef is arrogant enough that salt and pepper are not presented in order to let you know that the food has been prepared to HIS taste. We’re not going back.

Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. After 15 minutes on the patio we went in to remind them we were here, and ordered about 10 minutes after. That. She got The Traditional(eggs, bacon, home fries, toast). I got the Eggs Benny. Only two of her bacon slices were cooked and her fries tasted like the chef ran out of salt and use pepper instead. My English Muffins were burnt and bitter. Who burns an English Muffin and serves it? It would be one star but the staff was at least friendly.

Went for dinner and was extremely pleased with the beef steak. Cooked perfectly, seasoned very nicely with a side of vegetables nicely sautéed. The only item I did not so much enjoy was the dessert… Brownie with ice cream just didn’t seem very chocolaty.

Absolutely delicious! Came here for my birthday. We had a great seat in the front window with a booth. Split the chicken flatbread for appetizer. We were blown away by the smoked tomatoes on it. Very impressed with the attention to detail on this dish. Had the salmon salad entrée. The salmon was slightly overcooked but seasoned nicely. The salad was a bit on the bland side considering it was an entrée salad. Our server was not great. didn’t really seem too interested in being at work that night. Nevertheless, the food overall was great and I would definitely visit again.

I stayed in the inn for a week for a business trip. The rooms were clean. A little noisy but overall good for an old building. I would recommend the top floor. I ate in the restaurant several times. I have certain dieters needs(paleo) and the chef accommodated me every time without complaint. The steaks were cooked perfectly every time. Nice variety of vegetables. The service was a bit slow but they were friendly. I ate in several restaurants around town and I would say this one was the best.

A formerly fine and innovative restaurant that has lost its way. A mundane menu with mediocre execution at excessive price for the value delivered. Not recommended.

After waiting for 35 minutes they came back to let us know they were out if mussels. Then they got another order wrong. And other than saying sorry did not offer even a free beer to make up for the mistakes. Yes it was a Sunday during theatre season but they were not that busy, just that disorganized.

Every labour day weekend, a group of us make it down to the Stratford festival to see one of the great Shakespearean plays. And every year, like clockwork(sometimes twice a year), we stop at Foster’s for it’s decadent lamb burger before heading to the show. This year is the LAST time we ever go. The food is still the same. The lamb burger is still excellent. The salmon salad you can skip — worst unflavoured Atlantic salmon there is. My issue is that the hostess was completely racist. Our group of gals is pretty eclectic but none of us are white. We came in looking for a table and the hostess says«Oh, we’re all full. You can sit outside if you can nab a seat…» 1) The restaurant was at 40% capacity. 2) We wanted to sit outside anyway but never got the chance to say anything… and outside was empty. The real issue came when we were outside and we saw this family of 4 trying to decide where to eat. They settled for Fosters, went inside and were promptly seated. They did not have a reservation FORSURE. We went in and told the hostess off. Gosh. Stratford is a touristy place. It shouldn’t be small minded and honestly, not like our money isn’t the same. Shouts out to our waiter who was this lovely young guy. But thanks Foster for sending us off to become patrons of one of your competitors… And do better training for your staff.

Service was good, food was meh. Huevos rancheros was more of an egg taco. With no rice. It was decent, but the eggs Benedict was bland and watery. The place was pretty empty.

A delicious and fun time, every time! The menu changes with the season, but is always good. I love the Perth County Pork burger which you can only order on the lounge side with the bar. The bar is nice and long and very communal, always an interesting conversation to be had! Great for formal dining, or hanging out with friends at the bar, but book early during the theatre season! If you can’t get in, the kitchen is open late with the lounge menu.

Really wish I could give this place 4 stars… and I would have if only based on the ridiculously good gorgonzola cheese fries we ordered. Unfortunately, after receiving the bill with the $ 30 pitcher of sangria(which was really just some white wine and sparkling soda), I was disappointed. A little pricey for a pitcher of sangria.

I was nearly promised the moon with that local ham. «When in Perth County!» she said with a confident smile. The omelet was dry, and that ham was not the moon. The toast points were superfluous, and there was nothing colorful and high-vitamin I could order as a side. On the other hand, the default sriracha as a hot sauce was appreciated. What’s worse is that I was so badly outordered by my friend, whose huevos rancheros were gorgeous. Order them. Service: Nice enough, but inattentive. The busboy was way better with coffee refills than the server, because he gave me one. Subpar service seems to be a tradition in town.
