The Good: Ripe offers a wide selection of brick oven pizzas and pastas. The décor is excellent for an upscale Italian restaurant. The service is typically good, although expect to wait if the dining room is packed. The dessert selection is amazing and very delicious
The Bad: As another reviewer noted, the pastas are often under-​seasoned and taste somewhat bland. The pizzas, while well cooked with crispy thin crust, often lack significant toppings and flavour. Personally, many of the pizzas we did enjoy a few years ago were removed from the menu and replaced by other creations that were not as good.
The Ugly: There is nothing significantly wrong with Ripe.
Ripe is a solid choice for a pleasant dinner experience, but don’t expect to be blown away by bold flavours.

A great place for lunch or dinner, though a tad on the pricey side for lunch (about $ 15 + tax per person on average). The pizzas here are stellar, and come with a range of toppings you won’t likely find elsewhere in the city (procuitto, walnut & goat cheese, spinach, etc.). Pastas are top notch, with house made sauces full of flavour. Desserts are rich enough to share between two to three people.
Service is quick, and always with a smile. Excellent selection of wines and teas available.

Good but overrated.
I went to Ripe based on stellar word-​of-​mouth recommendations. We waited at our table a long time to get bread, and the mains were OK (I ordered pizza, my wife ordered pasta). However, my wife’s pasta was under salted. Strangely, there was no salt on the tables, either, so she was stuck with bland food.
Dessert was totally delicious, but the portions were tiny, and they were $ 8 or $ 9 each.
For what we got, I felt it was overpriced. Ripe is a good restaurant pricing itself like a great one. I liked the dessert much more than the main course, too.
