Description

Specialties

Eat Local. Drink Local. Be Local.

We’re a multifaceted food and wine concept that merges casual sophistication with an upbeat urban style. We feature a large local VQA wine selection coupled with a menu that blends classic styles with seasonal local ingredients. The atmosphere is often described as an urban retreat with amazing views of the water and natural elements.

History

Established in 2009.

Local Lounge * Grille was created in the Summer of 2009. Local resurrected a closed Waterfront Bar and Restaurant in Summerland and breathed new life and a new direction to the closed business.

A 5 month renovation was completed in the Fall of 2009 and the Grand Opening of Local took place on October 28, 2009.

Local features and adult only lounge (must be 19 years of age to enter), and an all ages dining room named Local Grille. Local Grille also serves as the access to the spectacular Waterfront Patio.

Local is owner and operated by Summerland based Local Hospitality Group Inc.

Cameron B.

Business Owner

Cameron Bond is no stranger to Hospitality. Having spent almost 30 years of his life involved in various aspects from Hotel Management and Retail Liquor Store Operations; and Restaurant Food Service management.

It was while managing the the legendary Hume Hotel in Nelson, BC where he met his future wife, Christa-Lee, who was the district sales representative for her Father’s now former winery Sumac Ridge Estate.

After spending several years in the Nelson B.C. tourism and hospitality industry, Cameron decided it was time to make a move to join Christa-Lee in Summerland, BC.

Embarking on their first venture together; in 2009 they created the concept for Local Lounge * Grille. They wanted to create a gathering place for friends and family, with innovative and classic regional cuisine spun from the freshest Pacific Rim ingredients. What they created was a sensation — a popular award winning restaurant in the heart of the Okanagan hospitality industry.
