At Ravens Wood Studio we offer artwork that is timeless and focuses on the creation of unique images, of special people, for private individuals and businesses. I don’t create traditional portraits, but take a contemporary approach to art making by focusing on the facial features of my subject. I can work from a photo you provide or take the photos myself of subject matter if they live in the Vancouver area. My work is created using professional quality materials and techniques with colour pencil on bright white illustration board. I am interested in both black and white and colour images and can do monochromatic images as well. I focus on creating contemporary works of art often with solid black or white backgrounds so the focus is on the subject.

I have won a number of awards and just recently my work was featured in a public art project through the City of Vancouver, and in Homes & Design magazine, September 2014.

I can do work from 11″ x 17″ all the way up to 4′ x 6′. Because these are hyper-​realistic images the art work does take time. If you are interested in commissioning a portrait please remember that the work, depending on size and my schedule, can take up to 3 to 4 weeks. Please also consider shipping time and cost. Overnight shipping will be more costly.

Established in 2014.

I’ve been creating art for over 30 years, but have just recently opened up commissions to the public. I have done work for the City of Vancouver, the city of Seattle and a number of private commissions.

Business Owner

I have been creating art for well over 30 years. I hold a BFA with distinctions from Concordia University, and an M. Ed, specializing in art education, from UBC. I have won a number of awards such as: First place 2013, 2014 Surrey Art Gallery, Color Pencil Society of America exceptional merit award, finalist Portrait Society of Canada, to name a few. I have won a public art commission from the City of Vancouver as well as a public art project with the city of Seattle.
