Taco Del Mar

Time to try this fast food outlet again. It’s cheap and cheerful and good standard fare. This is not high cuisine but the food is fresh and delicious. It’s a good alternative to McDonalds, Subway and Tim Horton’s, all of which are nearby. The burrito is your best bet for hand-​food on the go. There are chairs and tables for a good number, but most are two-​person.
There’s new management involved so perhaps the older posts aren’t as applicable now.

I love me some Mexican, but Taco Del Mar didn’t do it for me. Recently moving from the States, I get my fast-​food Mexican hit from Chipotle (don’t knock it, I love it), and unfortunately, TDM is just nothing even close to Chipotle…
Honestly, I felt like it was Subway for burritos… only lower quality. My husband and I picked up our meal to go and walked to our apartment, and by the time we got home, our food was soggy and weird.
Also, this particular location is just weirdly laid out and it smelled. And the person assisting us didn’t seem excited or happy that he was scooping up cheap Mexican goop to serve us.
I’m hoping it’s the location, but TDM is definitely not my first choice… or second or third for Mexican.

I love when I go to walk into this place, on 4 occasions and the little punks that work there are out in the parking lot hanging out with their friends, and I get the «oh shit a customer hold on guys I gotta go serve them» look.
