The atmosphere is good, the beer was cold. But service was less than desirable. Food was delivered incorrect. They were quiet as it was 1:30−2 when we were there. when pointed out she was flippant about it. then their machines when down and it was a 15 minute or so wait for them to figure that out. over all. Just not a pleasant meal when there is lots of selection in sylvan…

Went to Sylvan for a day at beach which ended up being overcast and not great. Walked along the lake for a bit and then decided to get a bite to eat before heading home. One of the guys I was with pointed out Bukwildz as being newer and had never been — decision made. They have a great deck area with glass walls which kept the wind out quite well. 3 of the tables on the patio also have propane fireplaces build in, perfect for the overcast/sunny/overcast day we were experiencing. Waitress was good especially as she was the only one working when we arrived and had a half full deck. Took time to tell us about the drinks they had an answered questions on the food. On the menu it says they make everything fresh as possible and all in house — like that they would rather have their duck preparred the same way for all the dishes that called for it instead of trying to be too fancy and aving bad service at the end. To start we had the lobster sliders(think that’s what they were called) which was a much bigger portion than expected — 6 fatter slices of cucumber piled high with lobster and balsamic reduction drizzled over the top. Super delicious and refreshing and gone in seconds. Next was duck flat bread which was more of a pizza base with good amount of topping. Curly fry poutine with added duck — the gravy was fantastic, thick and homemade for sure, only complaint would be that I wasn’t sure on the up charge to add any of the meats to the dish but think it came to $ 5 in the end which isn’t bad when I think of all the duck on it. Last dish was pulled duck that came on a roll with choice of sides. Duck in all three dishes was still moist and had good flavor. Drink wise they only have one beer on tap which was their Bukwildz beer — pretty tasty and a really good price. Ceasers were on for $ 5 as it was Sunday. Then tried their moonshine cocktails which are 3oz and should be shared — great options and come served in the moonshine bottle with a strainer on the top. Good reuse of the bottles and makes it all a little more fancy like, consideringyour drinking moonshine. All in all pretty good experience, great deck with a view of the lake, good service but never felt hounded to hurry up and make space for someone else, better than regular pub fare and really like that they make everything in house. Would definitely go back. Note: they have a ramp that goes from the parking lot to the deck so that if you have driven your bike there and had too much you are able to park your bike safety on the deck and they will get you home. Think they might also organise limo rides from Calgary out there but not sure on the details…

Restaurant is in a good location on the Lakeshore with a large patio. Music was too loud. Beer(Carona) was warm — disappointing as it was a hot day. Told waitress the beer was warm and she said«I got it out of the fridge» and that was the end of the conversation. She couldn’t have cared less. Subsequently kept asking me if I wanted a beer, as if I hadn’t just complained that it was warm. Waitress was efficient enough, otherwise. I ordered the wild boar sliders with Cesar salad. They warn you on the menu that they are a small operation and the food can take some time to prepare. This was the case. Waitress apologized for the delay saying they only had two people working in the kitchen and that everyone in the restaurant was hungry. The wild boar sliders were quite tasty and well prepared. The salad was fine. They have these mason jars with really interesting looking mixes of flavors and 3oz alcohol. I didn’t try one but if I ever return to this place I probably will. It was OK. I would consider returning.

Categorically one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in my life. Pleasant server/hostess, but that’s where the buck stops. Their menu goes so far as to say their food is «more than just fast food». What a laughable claim. Here’s the thing, I can tolerate some slightly less than fresh foods and have done so even at some of the places I’ve reviewed but when food establishments use ingredients that are rotten/mouldy or well past their best before date, then this also becomes a public safety concern. Hands down the most disgusting restaurant meal I’ve had in recent memory. Stay away.
