The charm of this cheese gallery on the outside is lovely in beautiful Thornbury and I am happy to support local business always, but the staff(all but one) are very rude. They have continuously made me feel like I should know what I want when I ask for recommendations. My recent encounter when picking up some cheese for NYE was awful– they cut me a chunk of cheese that was from the end of the block and covered in the hard rind, leaving very little edible cheese in my $ 8.00 brick. Ugh. So disappointing. Dags and Willows in Collingwood will be my go to from now on.

There’s not much we can review other than vibes and atmosphere. We were directed here thanks to a complimentary tea and chocolate for 2 given to us by the Scandinave Spa since we were put on wait list. We werent really greeted or asked to be helped and kind of just stood awkwardly looking at the cheeses and goods being sold before moving over to a lady where we showed her the coupon and she warmly told us to choose a tea and have a seat. The tea was a pot of caramel flavoured something or other and it was very yummy. The chocolates were just 4 different small pieces of chocolate. The atmosphere was nice, well lit and cozy. We were never approached or asked if we wanted to order anything else on their menu but I’m also not altogether sure if that’s what is supposed to happen. its very much like a café and not a restaurant so I dont know if we go to them or they come to us. It was quite clear we were new to the area so it would’ve been nice if someone had taken note of that and interacted with us. In any case we enjoyed the tea and left within an hour to move onto another activity. Would’ve been nice to taste some cheeses but we’re never really approached about it and I guess because we didn’t inquire we missed out.

Looked nice but average selection and terrible service. We were at the counter watching the staff talk amongst themselves and gave up waiting.

Happy Canada Day!!! Very quaint and nice variety of cheeses. Wines are minimal so wish they had more options. Otherwise very nice. My go to date destination. PS-They now have an Italian dessert and café bar!!!

Nice atmosphere and good place to kill an afternoon hour or so. We had a cheese board for two with charcuterie and a glass of wine. Some local cheese was included along with national and international samples. The staff was attentive, cheerful and talkative despite being desperately busy preparing for a private evening event. Worth a visit. They have a cheese counter for take home as well.

Top-notch cheese! The cheese tasting plate included 5 cheeses, ranging from very good to outstanding. We bought more of the two best cheeses to take home. My kids gave big thumbs up to the fondue, the brie&apple sandwich, and the grilled cheese sandwich. The staff was friendly and very helpful, but I could see that service would be slow during a busy period.

Divers flavours set the tone of cheese tasting plates… Maybe a touch too sweet for my liking, but great presentation. We also enjoyed the french onion soup the rosemary was a nice addition, but needed more melted cheese goodness! (A few small improvements could make this place beyond my expectations: music? I’m coming for the atmosphere as well as the food! A very noisy door?! And maybe more staff this place gets busy with a lot of take out orders. Plus it was a little chilly) It’s a nice local spot for a Bevi & a bite! Yum! But be advised it’s a bit on the pricey side of things, we had a cheese tasting for 2 a French onion soup and a beer and it was $ 48 including a mini tip. Left feeling not so full actually almost ready for dinner! Ha

Wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We have a cottage in Collingwood, but we always make an effort to travel 15 minutes west to Thornbury for wine and cheese at The Cheese Gallery. Casey the owner, Janet and Mary make sure everything is right every time. Wonderful Cheese plate sampler for two only $ 21 and they don’t kill you on the wine prices to sample with the cheese. Just love it, Peter & Julie
