Yogaspace Thornhill

So glad Yogaspace opened up a location for all the people who live uptown! If you’re looking for a non judgmental and loving space to get into yoga or if you’re a devout Yogi– you’ll love this place. Space is beautiful, really clean and brand new!

A lovely new space to practice. The place has been completely renovated since it was YogaTree.
I have taken 2 warm vinyasa classes with Steve. Both were great classes. Not too hot, dynamic. He does a great job of modifying up and down for all levels. If Steve is indicative of the caliber of teachers this place is a find. Front desk staff are also friendly and welcoming.
The practice room is spacious with radiant heaters. You can easily find spots not directly under the heaters if it is one’s preference (it’s mine). No mirrors. Some like that, some don’t. I’m indifferent.
The change rooms are clean but very tight. Only 2 showers… which hasn’t been a problem for me yet because after both classes only I showered and few people changed beyond pulling sweats over their yoga clothes. Not many people could change at once without being too close for comfort though! I’d love a bit more space there.
My other complaint is the last evening class is 7:30. Too early for me. I cannot get home from work, eat and digest enough to practice by 7:30. 8 – 8:30 start would be better for me. For this reason I’ll likely stick to my usual yoga spot… but grab weekend classes at YST when I can. If the schedule changes to add later classes, I’ll reassess
UPDATE: I returned to YogaSpace Thornhill in August, this time as my primary studio since the schedule at my former studio no longer suits me. YS has changed their evening classes to 8pm and brought in some excellent local teachers in addition to their already excellent existing staff. Sandy McHugh and Yvonne Eastwood are both fantastic Vinyasa teachers, and I tried a class with Michelle Palma that was excellent, and am still loving Steve’s classes. Well done YogaSpace!!!

Took a double header here on Wednesday — the vinyasa and restorative — and it was a great combo! The changeroom is a little cozy, but really nice and showers were fantastic.
The classes were taught by Jenn Slot, and she was fantastic for both vinyasa and restorative. Her instructions were clear and her breathwork cues were spot on. She was good about checking in with people whether they had shoulder issues and didn’t want to be touched. And what’s not to love about someone coming by and covering you in a blanket and rubbing your back — fantastic!
The practice room was well-​lit and the space was calming and well laid out. I especially loved that there was plenty equipment for everyone — by the end of the restorative class we all had tons of blankets, bolsters and blocks. Awesome that they have eye pillows for everyone too!
I will definitely be back, so happy to have a great location up here in the ‘burbs.

Yogaspace has the BEST restorative yoga class in the whole GTA, at least from my experience with the yoga studios I visited in the area.
I am so excited that Yogaspace opens up another location up in Thornhill, so I no longer to go all the way down to Ossington location to indulge myself in one of their delicious classes.
This location used to be Yoga Tree, one of my favourite studio but since they moved out and going to open up a flagship studio in Vaughan, Yogaspace took over their old location. A complete new studio as a complete renovation and upgrade have been done.
The change room had been relocated and everything are sparkling new. The practice room still as the old floor plan but the practice room has no mirror now, which I do prefer as I like feeling my postures.
Free classes till end of March as Grand Opening Special and After that $ 30 for 30 days.
I just love their schedule as there are quite a few restorative classes offers in a week and the variety of classes are quite diverse and interesting.
I can’t wait to go to another restorative class here with the teacher giving me adjustment for every posture that help deepens my practice and have her tuck me in with all the blankets…
