Front Row Sports Excellence is the largest sporting good retailer in Ontario’s Niagara region! We have six locations to serve you, including our Thorold Superstore at 133 Front St. North, along with four satellite locations at the Seymour Hannah Complex in St. Catharines, the Gale Centre Arena in Niagara Falls, the Fort Erie Leisureplex, the Northtown Center at Amherst (Williamsville, NY), and a full location in West Seneca. We specialize in hockey equipment, sticks, skates, skate sharpening and equipment/​skate repairs. We also have an extensive bicycle department that also offers full maintenance and repair services, a wide range of athletic apparel and shoes, as well as lacrosse, baseball, football and soccer gear.

History

Established in 1991.

An independent sporting goods retailer owned by longtime Niagara resident Dave Marrone. In 1991, Marrone began selling hockey cards in a small Albert Street storefront in Thorold, Onrario, with then-​partner Gary Kis. Gradually, the flagship Thorold hockey card store morphed into a sports equipment shop on Clairmont Street, soon doubling in size before Marrone moved his successful business to the north end of Front Street in 2006. Today, Front Row Sports has become the thriving sports empire that sells a variety of sporting equipment and bicycles with four locations across the Niagara Region and one in Amherst, New York.

Business Owner

Dave Marrone, the longtime owner of Front Row Sports, grew up in Thorold, Ontario and now resides in the nearby town of Pelham. Along with owning Front Row, Marrone is also very active in the local hockey community. He formerly owned the Thorold Jr. B Blackhawks for eight years and still plays a role in assisting junior players with getting university scholarships in hockey.
