As owner of 1−800-RID-OF-IT Junk Removal Toronto, Rick ensures the company structure embodies his own spirit of giving back to the community. This includes launching various community initiatives like the Great GET-​RID-​OF-​IT Garage Sale and X-​Mas in August Food Drive. Concern for the environment is another big reason Rick got involved in the waste removal & recycling business. The company structure reflects this, awarding bonuses to staff for increased recycling to community partners like the Furniture Bank and Salvation Army.

When not helping to keep the city clean, Rick works to keep it safe as a 16-​year veteran Toronto Firefighter. He contributes to community projects as a member of the Rotary Club of Parkdale-​High Park, and assists on winter slopes with the Canadian Ski Patrol.
