Great prices. Fast shipping. Used to always order online from here, and most of the time we still do. Free shipping went from a minimum $ 200 purchase down to $ 100 (amazing) and back up to $ 150 (still decent, but I wish it stayed at $ 100). Now we switch between 401games and another company that offers a lower minimum.

This place is a cornucopia of everything related to tabletop games and cards! Not to mention the biggest supply of Funko Vinyl Figures.
While I am not a big fan of table top games (though that Firefly game looks pretty damn ‘shiny’), it’s cool that they have a board game Café upstairs and a tournament room downstairs. Rental prices are super cheap and a great time to be had with your friends.
Overall, if you are a big card/​game/​toy collector, this is the place to go!

I feel like a lot of this store is wasted on me, as I only shop for board games here, but this store really has a lot more than that to offer.
For my own experience, I have gone to 401 Games about four times, and every time I have left with a really great experience. Awesome staff, best prices in the city (I bought a game for $ 30 that I had seen for $ 50 at another store) and the selection is incredible.
Every time I go to this store, it’s packed but I have never had an issue finding someone to help me and they have always taken the time to make sure all my questions were answered and I was properly taken care of.

401 has the best prices on board games in Toronto, hands down. I believe they had a sign out front saying their prices were better than US prices, and from what I saw that’s true. I found lots of games in their store that were several dollars Canadian cheaper than I’d pay on Amazon or CoolstuffInc in the US, and with the exchange rate that comes out even better. They have shelves and shelves of games, and I found several I’d been looking for that were either new and out of stock elsewhere, or I’d only seen online before. The staff was very friendly, and the store was very busy even on a Wednesday afternoon. There’s a whole upstairs area with tables to either rent games from them (those are the black bookshelves in pictures on Unilocal) or to play the games you bought downstairs. You can easily kill an afternoon at 401 Games.

Clean and well-​organized with some of the best prices around town on an excellent selection of TCG products.

Although sports products are a secondary aspect of this store, the variety is great and the prices are reasonable.

Outstanding game store, great selection of board games, with a much better location now (518 Yonge) than in the past. Parking can still be a difficult thing in this part of town, but it’s convenient to public transit and the selection makes up for any parking hassle when I“m in the city. Pretty good staff who are usually quite helpful. Decent/​fair pricing. One of the two must-​visit brick-​and-​mortar board game stores if you’re a gamer and in Toronto.

I’ve come here quite a few times since it opened and I’ve always had an incredible experience, even when they don’t have what I’m looking for in stock. The place is well lit, and relatively well organized but there’s way too much stuff to keep in the aisles so it it snakes along the walls and parts of the back. Prices are cheaper than or on par with most, so just double check to see if another place has what you’re looking for cheaper.
What really sets it apart is the very low costs for rental and facility use, which is leaps and bounds better than those obnoxious people from roll play café. Easy access, friendly knowledgeable staff and great selection, what’s more to want?

Seriously the best place to find sailor moon stuff right now! Prices are roughly average and this is official stuff. Amazing figmas (although be cautious to shop around first depending on character), dragonball figures and staff are always friendly and fun to talk to. Also great prices for Pokemon cards, and their sales are normally amazing.

The place is crowded all the time for a reason. It’s the best board game store ever. Huge selection, well organized, prices below MSRP (often cheaper than online retailer pricing!!), and knowledgeable staff. I know it’s hard to believe but I always drop by when I visit from the US, since the prices often beat what I can get back home.

Since the beginning 401games has been a top retailer of hobbies, trading card games, board games, collectibles etc… in the GTA for a long time.
With this new location they have more awesomeness in one store!

401 has the best selection and cheapest prices that you’ll find in the city on all kinds of nerdy things, but my experience is limited to board games and Magic. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 5 years, and am here at least once a week to play board games in their awesome community space upstairs and to check out the newest releases.

If you are into board games, trading card games, and POP! Funko figurines, then 401 Games is the place to go. They have the best competitive prices in Toronto.
The first time I went to the store, I was just amazed by the selection of items they have. If you are a MTG, Yu-​gi-​oh, Pokemon, Vanguard and Weiss Schwarz enthusiast, they have an amazing selection of singles and sealed products. I play MTG and I enjoy looking at the vast amount of cards in their showcase and in their binders. The service behind the counter is pretty decent. The guys behind the counter are very knowledgeable about TCGs. If I am looking for a particular card in a set, some employees actually will look up the card in the binder for you and ask how many you need. However, some employees don’t and just hand you the binder and they ask you to «search for it yourself.» It’s not really a major issue for me but it’s nice to get your cards quickly if you have a long list of cards to find.
My friend is really into board games and he always buys his board games here. He usually prefers to buy his games here since he compared pricing from other game stores and he said the price is always the lowest here.
They moved their game space from the basement to the second floor of the building. There is a lot more space and the floors are even unlike the game space before in their basement. Also, having windows and getting some natural light is an added bonus. However, they need better ventilation in the TCG game space, as it gets really stuffy and heated. They have a board game rental service where you can play board games all day for $ 2 per person. I tried this out and played board games in their newly renovated board game area. It’s a pretty awesome deal compared to other places and there is a food/​café opening up soon.
Also, check out their TCGs want list on their website so you can make the trade-​in process faster. You can trade either for cash or for store credit.
Overall, I definitely have re-​visited this store quite often and its an easy place to spend a lot of $$.

While coming to Toronto, I visited this store for the first time and I was so impressed. This is a really amazing game shop, especially since the prices were very comparable to places like Amazon in the US. I picked up a copy of Carcassone as it was way cheaper than any place I could find it in the states, and a copy of Love Letter for a friend.
Service was pretty friendly as I asked someone about which copy of Love Letter to get, and browsing through the amazing selection of games was also a treat. They have a top 10 board game geek rating for games, but I’d also recommend that they put perhaps a game of the month or something description about games so people can buy and try something new.

They have a really good selection of nerdy less known games. Ok selection of popular games – not that great, actually, and it’s hard to find stuff.
It’s hard to get assistance from store staff and you’re kind of expected to find your own way around. I would suggest going to a different store for your run of the mill games, because it’ll be easier to find them, and you’ll get a bit of help too.
I don’t know if this is typical, but when I went, the store was full of teenage boys and it smelled pretty bad. This was on a warm day, so maybe get a fan?

Overwhelming selection of games in store, brilliantly organised and very good to see how busy it was. Nice to see the RPG’s and accessories too. Card games like MtG aren’t really my thing, but if they are yours, you wouldn’t be dissapointed here!
The staff my friend and I engaged with were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

I’m an avid board game geek who lives in the United States and often buys games online at Coolstuffinc for the minimum possible price. I was very impressed that 401 Games charges the same price as CSI, except in Canadian dollars. For example, a game purchased online from CSI for $ 40 USD sells at 401 games for $ 40 CDN. I tested this out for approximately 10 games and it held up every time.
Never in my life have I encountered a brick-​and-​mortar store who charges the same as the lowest-​cost online retailer. But 401 Games has pulled it off, and will be the cheapest place you can find games.
The game selection is outstanding, the place is clean, and the staff is accommodating. I can’t say enough good things about this store.

Being a board games fan and one who likes cutesy things, they have a quite a full selection of board games you might be looking for — especially the most popular ones these days (eg. all the Catan and expansions, Ticket to Ride country versions, etc). Even the less popular ones have a great assortment!
What was best about 401 is also their service! You wouldn’t expect this right? Normally you would think it might be just and in-​and-​out store.
I once went there looking to buy new board games that can be good for groups between 4 – 6 players. One of their employees actually took his time (approx. 30 mins) to go through around 6 – 7 games with my friend and I, asking what our game preference is, explaining the overall gameplay, and elements of interest and difficulties. He was really helpful and very nice. too bad I forgot his name *frowns* but we bought two games so at least his honesty and resourcefulness made his company profit :)
If you are interested in Magic the Gathering (card game), this store is brilliant too! They sell singles, foils, and packs for an average value. The only downside is that their stock runs out fast on good cards because 401 is just so popular.
I also believe they hold Magic tournament or games every Thursday night — someone can correct me if I’m wrong haha.
WAIT! One last yet important thing. Apparently they have a vast collection of POP! figures too! Those are totallyyy my favourite aka. cutesy items. I still need to get a little Loki to match my Thor that I have! :P

There is a lot to like about this store.
They always seem to have stock and a ton of variety of different types of games to purchase to the point it brings me to my worse indecision making self.
I like the fact that the store is on the ground floor and you can walk in straight off the street. The staff is friendly and they always seems to have an opinion. In this case, having that opinion is a bonus, especially with the variety of games that they have to offer. If you’re not sure about one game or want to know more about it, they can help you, and if they haven’t played it before, they know someone on staff, who has played and can definitely give you the 411 so to speak.
Another thing about 401 is that they usually have the top 10 or so games avaliable for demo playing, and you are allow to play them in store no-​charge. They have a playing area in the basement, where you can sit and play elbow to elbow with the magic card players, etc.
Few things about the basement playing area, watch out for uneven floors and uneven ceilings. Also, because it is a basement — there are the typical smells — so just a heads up.
You are allowed outside food and drink in the basement area.
Overall, 401 Games is your boardgame station destination, but if you’re curious about a game and you don’t want to commit just yet, it’s also not a bad place to check out.

This is the go to place in Toronto when it comes to board games, magic cards, sports cards and pop funko figures. I used to come here all the time at their previous location, but the new location is much larger and allows them to have much more stock.
I’m more of an action figure collector and they have a nice assortment from low end figures to high end Japanese replica pieces. Their prices are probably some of the best in the city and most of the popular stuff sells out quickly. I always make sure to call in to check on the new stock as their website does not seem to update the toy section frequently.
They have probably the best pop funko selection in the city and at $ 10.99 they are priced very competitively with other shops. They receive new stock about twice a week and the employees are always willing to take the time to let you know what is new in stock over the phone. I’ll be coming back here again and again for my toy fix!

There is no better game store in Toronto. This place has the best selection, the best prices (cheaper than internet, and about 30% less than EVERY OTHER STORE in the city.) The guys there know their stuff, and seem to care, which is rare.
If you want sports cards, minis, DnD stuff, board games, trading cards, toys — whatever — this is for you.
It’s probably my favourite shop in the city.
