History
Established in 1985.
In 1985, William Allen, after working in a large firm for seventeen years, started Allen & Allen. In 1992, William was joined by his son John Allen. Since its inception, the firm has specialized in both estate and business law. John continues to work at the firm, along with his new associate, Adam Malek.

John Allen has a Bachelor of Laws from Queen’s University along with a Masters and PhD in securities law from Osgoode Hall. John became a lawyer in 1991 and joined Allen & Allen in 1992.
John has a general practice, with a focus on business law and estate planning. John has been counsel for and a director of a number of private and public companies, including a real estate investment company and an energy resource company both listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.
For six years, John authored «Allen securities netletter.» He has co-authored the «Estate Planning Handbook» and co-authors the annual «Handling Provincial Offence Cases in Ontario.»
John has been a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has taught contracts and evidence law at Humber College for the Bachelor of Arts program for paralegals and business law at Ryerson University.
