The Bistro on King is located in the lobby of One King West Hotel & Residence and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner service. The cuisine is International and features a selection of sandwiches, pasta and superb grilled fare. Children up to 6 years of age enjoy our Breakfast Buffet FREE of charge. Children ages 7 to 12 receive a 50% discount for the Breakfast Buffet.

History

Established in 2005.

The prestigious address of One King West was home to the head office of The Dominion Bank, a residency that would last an impressive 126 years.

In 1914, the bank’s rise to national prominence led to the construction of an early 12-​story skyscraper. Beaux-​Arts in style with Renaissance Revival detailing, the building was a major work of Darling and Pearson, Architects, in co-​operation with Harkness and Oxley, Engineers.

By 1999 and the Dominion Bank Building, now deemed a Heritage Building, was carefully redesigned for residential use by Stanford Downey Architect. This redesign saw the creation of the second tower adjacent to the building, aptly nicknamed «The Sliver», due to its dramatically slender profile.

By 2006 the transformation was finally complete, resulting in One King West Hotel and Residence. Today, guests of the hotel are treated to the historical splendour of the Dominion Bank Building along with the modern sophistication of luxurious hotel amenities and services.

Manager

Having realized his passion for the culinary arts at a very young age, One King West Executive Chef Samuel Fiore embarked on his career as a chef apprentice at the Sir Isaac Brock Hotel, Niagara Falls, Canada. Chef Fiore has worked in some of the highest acclaimed 4 and 5 diamond hotels and resorts in the world, including Grandover Resort, North Carolina; Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Palm Springs California; and the Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies.

With a knack for flavour and style combination and his keen culinary knowledge, Chef Fiore has been creating specialized menus for the hotel’s array of celebrity guests, premier events, corporate galas and weddings while leading a first-​rate kitchen and banquet staff at One King West Hotel & Residence since 2007.
