History

Established in 1999.

Ken Woods started Black Oak way back in 1999 in Oakville, Ontario. Two British inspired brews were his flagship beers– the Pale Ale and Nut Brown Ale. These two award-​winning recipes are still with us year-​round and in 2011 we added a third: the award-​winning Ten Bitter Years IIPA. In addition, to these three beloved brands, we offer a wide range of seasonal offerings and wide range of limited edition ‘one-​off’ brews.

Flash forward to 2015: we employ about a dozen staff and ship our 6-​packs, tall bottles, kegs and casks all around the province. Look for us in Beer Stores, LCBO’s & on draught across the province. Come by and visit us at the brewery too! We love giving tours on Saturday’s and also have a brewery retail shop. You’ll find swag and a wide variety of brews: many of which are exclusively for sale directly from us.
