Our licensed program, founded in 1937 offers enriched preschool education for all children, including those with special needs. Your choice of a half day program in the morning or the afternoon, 12 months a year. For children aged 2 ½ — 5, for five days or three days per week.

Summer camp programs in July and August take place in our outdoor education area, a playground and garden of 5000 square feet in the heart of the city. Nutritious, vegetarian, nut free, egg free organic snacks are served. In the summer we grow our own tomatoes, lettuce and green beans.

Mini-​bus transportation is available to certain areas.

Bond is a dedicated placement site for Ryerson University Early Childhood Studies, and also partners with St. Michael’s Hospital Paediatric department and the Jackman Institute for Studies in Education. We were awarded the ‘Best Of’ Community Programs by Now, Magazine, and were winners of the awards for Most Inclusive Front Line Staff, and Best Advocates for Children.

History

Established in 1937.

Mary Rowell Jackman founded the nursery school in 1937, to help families with young children in the neighbourhoods around Metropolitan United Church.

The school, a registered charity, became a United Way Member Agency in 1957, and remains so today. Programs such as Family Support, Transportation and Intervention are all funded by the United Way.

Rosemary W.

Manager

Rosemary White, Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), is the Executive Director of Bond Child and Family Development. She manages a dedicated team of educators, students and volunteers and is supported by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of business professionals from the community.

Rosemary has a long history of advocating for children with special needs.
